Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad says Rameli Musa is Abdul Hadi Awang’s and PAS’s friend. Anwar Ibrahim says Rameli Musa is Mahathir’s friend. PAS says Rameli Musa is Anwar’s friend.
The truth is Rameli Musa is everybody’s friend. He puts his money on all the horses in the race so that whichever horse wins he wins.
This is actually a good strategy. And this is why he is one of the richer of the Malays, even though not many know this. Unlike all those other rich Malays, Rameli Musa keeps a low profile and does not bask in the limelight.

Will the real Rameli Musa please stand up! Those who know him know he throws a lot of parties at his home. One day he will throw a party for PAS leaders. The following week he will throw a party for PKR leaders. Then he will throw a party for Umno leaders. There will also be a party for Mahathir and his entire family.
Everyone who is anyone gets invited to a party in Rameli Musa’s house. And if you happen to be one of those who have never been invited to a party in Rameli Musa’s house that can only mean this is because you are a nobody. Simple!
Most of the neighbours around Rameli Musa’s neighbourhood are actually quite fed up with these never-ending parties where scores of cars park indiscriminately and choke up the road, not to mention the rubbish that is thrown in front of the house thereafter and becomes a breeding ground for rats.
Many neighbours have moved away rather than continue to endure this VIP and his VVIP guests disturbing the peace and quiet of what is supposed to be an upmarket residential area but has now been reduced to a bazaar. And they all know that since the whose-who of Malaysia are always at Rameli Musa’s house, it is futile to complain and instead they just move elsewhere to a quieter area.

Anwar Ibrahim sold out Rameli Musa to embarrass Mahathir Anyway, this just demonstrates how well-connected Rameli Musa is, not to mention extremely wealthy. He not only sponsors politicians and political parties in the tens of millions, he also sponsors both sides of the political divide.  Whether government or opposition, everyone gets to taste Rameli Musa’s money.
But this is okay if everyone just takes his money and keeps quiet. But when you have someone like Anwar Ibrahim who kisses and tells, then this poses a problem. And Anwar not only kisses and tells, he also accuses that person of kissing someone else when he himself is also kissing that person.
Last week, Rameli Musa experienced what it is like when Anwar decides to betray you and turn you into collateral damage. Anwar did something he should not have done. He revealed that Rameli Musa had paid Clare Rewcastle Brown RM1.4 million. And lawyer Americk Sidhu confirmed this and said a ‘third party’ had signed the RM1.4 million cheque in front of him.
Now the shit has hit the fan. Many thought Anwar did this to embarrass Hadi and PAS. Actually Anwar’s target was Mahathir. It was Mahathir and not Hadi or PAS who asked Rameli Musa to pay Clare RM1.4 million. And when Anwar revealed this Mahathir hit the roof.

Mahathir and Daim are pissed with Rameli Musa for revealing the RM1.4 million payment Mahathir immediately called Tun Daim Zainuddin and asked how this ‘secret arrangement’ got leaked. Wasn’t there a confidentially agreement between Rameli Musa and Clare? Was it Rameli Musa, Americk or Clare who told Anwar?
Numerous people tried to reach Rameli Musa since Friday last week but he was not taking any calls. Rameli Musa had crawled into a hole somewhere and was in hiding until the whole matter cools off.
