Saifuddin Cites New Leads In Search For Muhyiddin S Fugitive Son In Law
PARLIAMENT | Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail today revealed that cooperation of Malaysian police with foreign counterparts through Interpol has yielded "new leads" towards locating and repatriating Adlan Berhan, the fugitive son-in-law of former prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin.
Speaking in the Dewan Rakyat, Saifuddin also reiterated that the Home Ministry, through the Immigration Department, has acted on the request of the MACC to cancel Adlan's (above) passport.
"The issue now is his whereabouts. I can say that our cooperation with international police is ongoing.
"And indeed, we have found several 'new leads', I can say that much.
"I don’t want to elaborate in detail as it may interfere with the investigation, but yes - we have detected 'new leads' that are helping our efforts to trace and bring him back," said Saifuddin in his winding-up speech of debates on the Procurement Bill 2026.
Saifuddin said this in response to RSN Rayer (Harapan-Jelutong), who sparked a brief commotion after he accused Muhyiddin (PN-Pagoh) of failing to disclose Adlan's whereabouts.

Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution IsmailHe also reiterated MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki's statement yesterday that the anti-graft commission has concluded its probe into a corruption case against Adlan and lawyer Mansoor Saat, also a fugitive.
Both individuals are wanted over a project concerning the misappropriation of biometric registration, recruitment, and data storage of migrant workers for a ministry.
Wanted notice received
Responding to Ramkarpal Singh (Harapan-Bukit Gelugor), Saifuddin reaffirmed that the Interpol has received Malaysia's wanted notice against the duo.
"As I mentioned earlier - yes, we have discovered several new leads. I personally met with the current head of Interpol.
"They have confirmed that our notification to them is within their knowledge… It’s a police-to-police matter," he said.

Last week, it was reported that Adlan, a wanted businessperson, was spending his days on the run in luxury.
New Straits Times said it had received photos showing Adlan in the company of unnamed Middle Eastern dignitaries.
The English daily also claimed that Adlan, who left Malaysia in 2023, has also been travelling from the unspecified Middle Eastern country to go on holiday, including to Thailand, where he reportedly played golf and went to a shooting range. - Mkini
