When Halal Transcends Meat Food Preparation But Includes Avoiding Food Operators With Exposed Aurat

THE adage ‘eating with your eyes’ takes on a new meaning with a video uploaded on a foodie influencer’s Facebook page that raised many eyebrows.
Brade Sodok’s review of Nasi Kukus Cik Rohani did not contain any lengthy wordy descriptions. Instead, he let the video and the restauranteur do the talking.
The food does indeed look very appetising with Cik Rohani herself assuring the dishes are not only authentic and home-cooked but also reasonably priced.
However, it seems it was not the food that was the star attraction with the food entrepreneur attracting plenty of comments for her appearances.
The post has generated 5.6K likes, 1.7K comments and 574shares and 680K views at time of writing with plenty of commenters focusing on the restaurateur’s physical appearances instead of how her food would taste,
Those with a conservative perspective were less than impressed with her “indecent” dressing. One commenter simply declared this lady “knew no shame”.

Agreeing with the sentiment, another commenter said there was no need to display her wares even if she did not wear a head scarf. She added not every customer would avert their gaze.

One commenter went as far as to question the moral fibre and religious upbringing of the enterprising businesswoman, taking umbrage with the manner in which she spoke even though it was mere social media content.

“Might as well not wear anything, sis” was the view of one commenter since she seemed to think that she needed to show off her cleavage to drum up some business.

One lady commenter stated that she was embarrassed even as a female. She argued it would be awkward if there were other family members, especially kids, in tow.

There were those who pointed out that this was clever “marketing strategy”, specifically the supposed flashing of cleavage was the main attraction at the restaurant.

However, there were those who seem think it was just fine. One commenter urged Cik Rohani to just ignore the brickbats as they were just jealous, applauding the lady’s entrepreneur spirit.

If you are not offended by the choice of attire and indeed want to give the food a try, you can find the establishment in Taman Danau Kota, Kuala Lumpur.

With the video having fetched a staggering viewership of 680K times, do not be surprised if you find it difficult getting an empty seat given this post has significantly increased the profile of Cik Rohani and her restaurant.
This is regardless of one commenter having marked Cik Rohani as having failed from the food preparation perspective “for failing to wear the apron and hair cover”.

On this note, a commenter ticked off the poster for making the content of a woman who exposed her aurat or parts of the female body that should be covered, – Aug 18, 2025
