Tied Dragged Forced To Kneel Prof Recalls Zionist Brutality
Alauddin Ali recounted being tied up and dragged for about 200m by two Israeli soldiers during his recent detention by the Zionist regime.
He joined the Freedom Flotilla Coalition and Thousand Madleens to Gaza (FFC x TMTG) mission along with eight other Malaysian volunteers, and said they were subjected to rough treatment by Israeli soldiers during their detention.
“Two Israeli soldiers caught me, twisted my arms behind my back, and dragged me for about 200m.
“They then ordered me to kneel for an hour. My arms were pulled so far back I thought they might break. That was the harshest treatment I received, apart from being held in a place that could only be described as a pen,” he told reporters in Sepang yesterday.
The FFC x TMTG humanitarian mission involved about 150 activists from 25 countries on board nine vessels, including the Conscience and Umm Saad, which were intercepted by Zionist forces less than 120 nautical miles from Gaza last Wednesday.
They were taken to Ashdod Port and later transferred to Ketziot Prison in Negev, Israel.

The Conscience vesselThe eight Malaysians aboard the Conscience were Alauddin, who was the Malaysian delegation head, Dr Fauziah Hassan, Dr Hafiz Sulaiman, Dr Ili Syakira Suhaimi, Afandi Salleh, Noorhasyimah Ismail, Norsham Abu Bakar, and Astro Awani journalist Syafik Shukri Abdul Jalil, while another doctor, Dr Maziah Muhammad, was on board the Umm Saad.
The activists departed Istanbul aboard Turkish Airlines flight TK60 at 1.40am on Sunday and arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 4.01pm.
Afandi said they were ordinary activists continuing the struggle of volunteers from around the globe to end the Zionist regime’s oppression of the Palestinian people.
“We are not heroes. We just want to show that Israel’s cruelty and inhumanity extend beyond Gaza - it affects the whole world.
“We were arrested and abducted in international waters, which is a clear violation of international law. I believe the Palestinian issue will continue to awaken global awareness of Israel’s atrocities,” he said.
Mission’s objective achieved
Humanitarian Care Malaysia (MyCare) chairperson Kamal Nasharuddin Mustapha said the struggle to liberate Palestine would continue through various means and movements.
“This mission did not have to reach Gaza to be considered a success. The moment the world began to pay attention and share concern for the plight of the people in Gaza, the mission’s objective was already achieved.
“Israel may detain the ships and imprison our activists, but the flotilla to Gaza will continue to sail - their actions will not break the spirit of solidarity,” he said.
