Takiyuddin pointed out that Zaid’s four-storey building in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, had already “joined PAS” when the party purchased it around 15 years ago.
“We invite him (Zaid) to join PAS. Why is he inviting KJ (Khairy) instead? He should be the one joining PAS,” Takiyuddin was quoted as saying by PAS’ official news portal, Harakah Daily, in Kota Bharu.
His remarks came after Zaid, a former law minister and Kota Bharu MP, suggested that Khairy apply to join PAS.
However, Takiyuddin said that while PAS is open to welcoming Zaid, his application would not be automatically accepted.

“I welcome Zaid to join PAS, but whether his application is approved remains to be seen,” he added.
KJ’s future in politics
On Feb 1, in an episode of the Zaid Ibrahim Podcast, the outspoken politician suggested that the former health minister and Umno Youth chief join PAS if he intended to return to active politics.
Zaid, known for his strong criticism of conservative policies, including those championed by PAS, argued that Umno no longer had a future.
He added that Khairy’s alternative routes back into Parliament would be to form his own party or contest as an independent candidate.
Khairy JamaluddinZaid also expressed confidence that Khairy could attract widespread support from PAS voters, which could boost his chances of becoming prime minister.
In 2017, Zaid was quoted as saying that Kelantan needed to be “saved” from PAS’ administration, which he believed was stifling the state’s development and potential.
“This is why, in the upcoming general election (GE14), I will be spending a lot of time in my home state.
“I will try to tell as many voters as I can that PAS’ administration must come to an end,” he had said. - Mkini
