Pas Members Aren T Foolish Says Youth Leader After Invite To Join Amanah

PETALING JAYA: A PAS Youth leader said its members will never join Amanah as it is “being exploited” by the DAP.
“Do they think PAS members are foolish enough to join Amanah?” Penang PAS Youth vice-chief Hafiz Alias asked.
Hafiz told FMT there was no need for Amanah to even attempt to woo PAS members to defect.
“Because it was PAS members who kicked you out,” he said, referring to a faction from PAS that left the Islamic party after being at loggerheads with president Abdul Hadi Awang’s leadership.
Hafiz said this in response to Penang Amanah Youth communications director Abrar Sadiq’s call on PAS members disappointed with the “culture of slander”, practised by a segment of the Islamic party’s leaders, to join Amanah.
Abrar’s “invitation” came after Perak PAS chief Razman Zakaria’s apology to youth and sports minister Hannah Yeoh of DAP for linking her to the Yeoh family of the conglomerate YTL Corporation Bhd.
Razman’s gaffe also came after PAS’s Kepala Batas MP Siti Mastura Muhammad lost a defamation suit to DAP veterans Lim Kit Siang, Lim Guan Eng and Teresa Kok.
She was ordered to pay the trio RM830,000 in damages and costs after claiming that the trio were related to the late Communist Party of Malaya leader Chin Peng, and that Kok was a cousin of Guan Eng’s wife, Betty Chew.
Hafiz went on to remind Amanah that Pakatan Harapan leaders had also been found guilty of defamation, citing the defamation case between Amanah’s vice-president Mahfuz Omar and Kedah menteri besar Sanusi Nor.
In January last year, the High Court ordered Mahfuz to pay Sanusi RM250,000 in damages after he claimed that the latter had ordered state-owned Syarikat Air Darul Aman Sdn Bhd (Sada) to buy a Vellfire for his personal use.
“Amanah’s invite is nothing more than a desperate attempt to get more members,” Hafiz said. - FMT
