Puad Wants Jho Low Back From Shanghai Whether Bear Faced Or Ox Footed
Umno supreme council member Puad Zarkashi has demanded that Malaysian authorities bring back fugitive financier Low Taek Jho, or Jho Low, regardless of whether he “looks like a bear” or “walks like an ox”.
The call came hot on the heels of claims by investigative journalists Tom Wright and Bradley Hope, who alleged that the elusive mastermind behind the 1MDB scandal is holed up in Shanghai, China.
“If true, it is the responsibility of the police and MACC to bring him back without delay and bring him to justice,” Puad said in a Facebook post.
Puad, a loyalist of jailed former premier Najib Abdul Razak, questioned why, after all these years and apparent breakthroughs, Jho Low (above) continues to slip through the fingers of law enforcement like an oiled eel in a courtroom.
ADSHe also fired shots at former inspector-general of police Abdul Hamid Bador, who had boldly declared in 2019 that Jho Low would be back in Malaysian custody by year-end, complete with eyebrow-raising details about Jho Low’s supposed new appearance.

Umno supreme council member Puad Zarkashi“All that was just empty talk and an embarrassment,” Puad said.
Back then, Hamid claimed that authorities in the country where Jho Low is hiding were uncooperative, and added a surreal twist to the tale.
“Among the excuses they gave was that he (Jho Low) supposedly underwent plastic surgery and now resembles a bear. His face is said to look like a bear. I don't know, but purportedly he has changed how his face looks,” he said.
"There were times (they said) when he walked, he resembled a wild ox. Is that a logical excuse to be given by the authorities?" he asked, carefully omitting which country had spun this narrative.
Political collapses
Puad, never one to pull punches, also took the opportunity to lob a verbal grenade at former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who had recently implied that the appointment of the chief justice may have been politically influenced.
“Mahathir should not be giving empty talk about judicial appointments being compromised. He should look in the mirror,” he snapped.

Puad then pointed to senior lawyer Shafee Abdullah’s argument that Najib’s case was based on hearsay as key figures like Jho Low and former SRC International CEO Nik Faisal Ariff Kamil never appeared in court.
“This should have been grounds to dismiss the case,” he said.
Puad suggested that the political collapses of Mahathir, Muhyiddin Yassin, Tommy Thomas, Latheefa Koya, and Ahmad Terrirudin Salleh might not be coincidental at all.
“At this point, only karma seems to be answering the public’s questions,” he said. - Mkini
