Pas Mp Wants Debate On Farhash S Alleged Prospecting Licence From Glc
PARLIAMENT | Shahidan Kassim (PN-Arau) has filed a parliamentary motion requesting a debate related to recent allegations against the prime minister’s former aide, Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak.
Speaking in the Dewan Rakyat today, the PAS lawmaker informed Dewan Rakyat speaker Johari Abdul that he had submitted two motions for the speaker’s consideration.
“One motion is linked with the great youth icon Salvador who had gotten… land from Sabah - that’s great, alhamdulillah,” the former Federal Territories minister said.
Malaysiakini has contacted Shahidan (above) for further details on the motion.
ADSThe other motion is related to the upcoming “Turun Anwar” rally set to take place in Kuala Lumpur on July 26 to pressure Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to resign over the rising cost of living and failure to deliver on reforms, among others.
While Shahidan had raised the matter of his motions under Standing Order 18(1) on issues of urgent public importance, he also asked the speaker to reconsider the rule outlined in 18(5), which states that not more than one motion may be made at one sitting of the lower house.
Earlier today, a company linked with Farhash was accused of receiving a prospecting licence from state-owned Sabah Mineral Management Sdn Bhd (SMM).

Anwar Ibrahim’s ex-aide Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal MubarakFarhash denied the allegations and issued a cease and desist letter against MalaysiaNow over its article which made the claims.
SMM CEO Natasha Sim told Malaysiakini that based on records, no companies owned or linked to Farhash - including Bumi Suria Sdn Bhd and Borneo Bumi Sdn Bhd - have been awarded such a licence.
The MalaysiaNow report alleged that Bumi Suria was awarded a mining exploration licence in Sabah on 70,000ha in the Kalabakan and Gunung Rara forest reserves near the Kalimantan border.
Farhash had previously served as Anwar’s political secretary before the latter became prime minister.
Sabah scandal
Sabah mineral prospecting licences are the subject of a massive corruption scandal, after multiple assemblypersons, including state ministers, were caught on video discussing alleged bribes with businessperson Albert Tei - who later blew the whistle on the alleged deals.
Two Sabah politicians, state assistant minister Andi Suryady Bandy and Qhazanah Sabah chairperson Yusof Yacob, have been charged with taking RM350,000 in bribes from Tei, who has also been prosecuted for giving bribes.
The corruption scandal has also implicated Sim, following the emergence of a photograph allegedly showing her, SMM company secretary Nancy Chong, and Sabah timber baron Elbert Lim posing with luggage beside a private jet said to belong to an Indonesian coal magnate.
Sim had earlier dismissed her predecessor Jontih Enggihon’s claim that she and her husband had joined the others on a lavish, RM400,000 sponsored holiday. - Mkini
