Family Of Girl Who Fell To Death From Sentul Condo Lodges Second Police Report Alleges Foul Play
KLANG: The mother of a 20-year-old girl who fell to her death from an apartment in Sentul on July 2 has lodged a second police report, alleging foul play in her daughter’s death.
The family’s lawyer M. Manoharan said Tavanes Vary Mohan’s mother A. Laletha, 43, had lodged the report at the Sentul district police headquarters on July 14.
"We interviewed her and helped draft a report based on her account of what had happened and what she believed could have occurred to her daughter," said Manoharan.
Tavanes Vary, who was pursuing a diploma in policing and criminal investigation at a local institution, was living in a seventh-floor unit of the apartment block, which was rented by the college as a hostel for its students.
She was found at the bottom of the condominium in the wee hours of the morning by another resident who alerted the authorities.
Laletha said that Tavanes Vary lived in the master bedroom of the unit with five other girls.
She also alleged that her daughter was incessantly bullied and was made to attend a “meeting” by her roommates on the day of the tragedy.
“The police must investigate the matter given what Laletha has stated in the report.
“The parents strongly believe that Tavanes Vary did not commit suicide and that there was foul play involved in her death,’’ said Manoharan.
Manoharan said he has also confirmed that the apartment unit was one of several directly rented by the college administration as hostel for its students.
“As we have established this fact, we will now be initiating a civil action against the college for failing in their duty of care to ensure Tavanes Vary’s safety,’’ he added. - Star
