Pn Urges Dap To Quit Pahang Govt Over Durian Land Row
Pahang Perikatan Nasional has urged DAP to quit the state government if the party intends to continue confronting enforcement actions against encroachment on state land.
ADSPahang PN chairperson Saifuddin Abdullah said this after Raub MP Chow Yu Hui again came to the defence of durian farmers in his constituency, who are in a land battle with the state government.
“This attitude shows that the DAP representative and leadership are taking a misguided stance and misleading the public… misguided because they are clearly siding with those who break the law.
“And they are misleading the people because we are left wondering, what exactly is DAP trying to do in Pahang… are they fighting for the people’s rights or defending those who disobey the law?” said Saifuddin (above).
The Indera Mahkota MP was speaking to the media after attending the Indera Mahkota PN and PAS Hari Raya Open House event in Beserah today.
Also present was Beserah assemblyperson and Pahang PAS deputy commissioner Andansura Rabu who echoed Saifuddin’s criticism of Chow.

Beserah rep Andansura Rabu“This matter truly puzzles us… if he feels like opposing the government, then leave the government, and we certainly welcome DAP’s exit from the Pahang government.
“As an MP, he should understand that obstructing public officers from carrying out their duties is a serious offence and cannot be overlooked or ignored,” Andansura said.
Farmers-enforcement clash
The PAS leader also called for stern action to be taken against Chow, as several police reports have been lodged following the incident where Chow, along with the farmers, was accused of trespassing and attempting to stop enforcement officers from cutting down durian trees in Raub.
Last Friday, the Save Musang King Alliance (Samka) - led by Chow as an adviser - managed to collect around 400 signatures in under three hours in support of a petition urging the Pahang State Enforcement Unit (UPNP) to halt its durian tree-cutting operations.

The petition came a day after tensions flared between durian farmers and UPNP officers during an operation to cut down Musang King trees in the disputed area near Sungai Klau, Raub,.
The farmers claimed that the trees were planted there decades ago.
In a related development, Raub police confirmed receiving three reports regarding the incident, filed by UPNP officers, the police themselves, and an NGO. - Mkini
