Pn Leaders Butt Heads Over Who Should Be Pm

YOURSAY | ‘Rakyat must vote wisely; time to reject money and racial politics.’
Bersatu puts forward 'poster boy' for voters to evaluate - Tun Faisal
Muhyiddin's ex-aide: Bersatu footed GE15 costs, PAS won seats with its funding
GP2025: Yes, a poster boy as a prime minister-designate is necessary in the event of a general election.
It shows a clearer understanding of the Federal Constitution.
The voters will now choose a party or coalition knowing who will be the next prime minister.
Contrary to PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man’s understanding of the Constitution, the power to appoint the prime minister does not mean he can choose who he prefers as prime minister.
The Agong must validate the electoral outcome and appoint the prime minister of the winning team.
If he doesn’t, then he is not respecting the democratic practices of our parliamentary democracy and acting contrary to the constitution.
In the event of a hung Parliament, the Constitution gives no provision for the Agong to appoint his choice of prime minister.
The MPs must be left to make that choice on behalf of those who elected them, and they present to the king their choice, which is the choice of the people.
If it is clear that the choice has the confidence or the support of the majority of the MPs, the Agong appoints him.
It is extremely disappointing that our MPs don’t understand the Constitution and interpret it in any way they want.
That’s the underlying reason for the state we are in.
As for Bersatu’s poster boy, whoever made that decision disregarded the fact that more than half of the party’s divisions wanted Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin to step down, which means he shouldn’t be the poster boy. Leaders must listen to their voters!
IndigoGoat3056: Elections should not be about who can spend the most money, but about determining the future of the people.
ADSYet the reality is that election costs running into millions have allowed democracy to be dominated by the wealthy, not by those who truly fight for the people.
Such money politics only produces leaders who want to “recover their investment” once in power.
It is deeply disappointing that principled parties like PSM are often sidelined, while voters remain trapped in racial politics.
As a result, candidates who sincerely champion the people’s basic needs are defeated, while those who play the racial card continue to rise.
Voters must realise that their vote is not just a piece of paper in the ballot box, but a precious right and voice.
That vote determines justice, well-being, and the nation’s future.
The people must have the courage to vote wisely. It is time to reject money and racial politics.
The people must choose principled parties that raise fundamental issues of life - jobs, housing, education, healthcare, and the cost of living - because this is the real struggle that will protect and uplift all.
Just a Malaysian: Bersatu information chief Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz, it looks like Bersatu’s days are over.
PAS no longer has any use for the party.
If you and your people really want to preserve a secular, progressive Malaysia, you may need to find a way to work with Pakatan Harapan.
Otherwise, our country will continue to move deeper into a theological state.
Your children will be like others from many broken nations seeking asylum overseas.
In your crazed fight for power, you have strengthened and unleashed a force we cannot control.
Doubtful: Tun Faisal, we do not think that Muhyiddin is fit to become prime minister, given the way he abused emergency powers when he was prime minister and the fact that he had declared himself a Malay-first politician.
This means he will never be the prime minister for all citizens.
Coward: A “poster boy” is a good idea, if and only if Perikatan Nasional comes up with one, and both Bersatu and PAS put their support behind that person.
If it is one “poster boy” for Bersatu and another for PAS, then it is like making infighting public.
One Malaysian: This new spin is so that Muhyiddin does not lose face.
Anyway, he is on borrowed time as big brother Pas has openly rebuked his suggestions!
One Malaysian: Where did all this money come from?
Bersatu is only a few years old, yet it can fund PN’s 15th general election campaign without blinking!
Platypus: The truth is... any poster boy from PAS will definitely drive voters away. So, they can only sneak in their candidate after the next general elections.
BlueCougar1744: Behind the crimson red roses are all thorns. - Mkini
