Please Don T Go Missing Again Farhash Tells Rafizi
Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak (left) says he will leave it to PKR members to evaluate Rafizi Ramli.PETALING JAYA: Former Perak PKR chief Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak has chided Rafizi Ramli after the latter announced his return to politics.
Farhash reminded party members that the former Pandan MP did not carry out his duty as the party’s vice-president and had gone missing when the party needed him.
“He did not carry out his duty as vice-president, so it is up to PKR members to evaluate (him).
“I don’t know what formula he has up his sleeves,” Farhash told FMT, in an apparent jibe at Rafizi’s claim last month that his formula had seen RON95 petrol prices remain at RM2.05 per litre.
Rafizi, who withdrew from politics in 2019, today announced that he will be running for the deputy president’s post in the party elections next month.
In the last PKR polls in 2018, Rafizi took on incumbent Azmin Ali for the post of deputy president and lost narrowly despite the latter being a minister in the then Pakatan Harapan (PH) government.
He was later appointed as a vice-president in the PKR central leadership council for the 2018-2021 session.
The deputy president’s post was left vacant for two years after the party sacked Azmin in February 2020.
Rafizi had on Dec 10, 2019 announced his exit from politics to concentrate on his start-up project, saying he was at a stage in life where he “needs to learn”.
Meanwhile, Farhash stressed that he has no problem with Rafizi’s return as he perceived it as part of the process in a democratic party.
“It’s okay, this is a democratic party. I have no issue with him contesting, but if he wins, please do not go missing again.
“Do your work wholeheartedly, don’t disappoint the supporters,” he said.
Kangar PKR division chief Amin Ahmad said that Rafizi has taken into consideration the grassroots’ support to enable him to win the deputy president’s post.
“Anyone who wants to contest would surely take into account a lot of things. He (Rafizi) wouldn’t contest for fun as he has considered the support from the grassroots,” he said. - FMT
