Pas Cites Three Decades Of Clean Record In Kelantan As Proof Of Ability To Lead The Nation

PAS’s record of governing Kelantan for more than 30 years without any major corruption scandals has been highlighted as proof of the party’s ability to lead with integrity and effectiveness.
According to Selangor PAS Youth Chief, Mohamed Sukri Omar, no other state has managed to maintain such a clean track record. He argued that this positions PAS as the most stable party within the PN coalition.
“Kelantan has been under PAS’s administration for over three decades, yet there has never been a significant corruption case. This shows that our commitment to integrity goes beyond political rhetoric,” he said during the debate session of the 71st PAS Muktamar at the PAS Complex in Kedah, Kota Sarang Semut.
He went on to point out the party’s achievements in other states. In Terengganu, for example, governance is led by experienced technocrats, which, he said, has boosted public confidence in PAS’s ability to manage affairs professionally.
“In Terengganu, leadership by capable technocrats proves that PAS is not just about politics but also about delivering sound administration,” he noted.
Mohamed Sukri also cited Kedah’s “Greater Kedah” vision as evidence of a forward-looking, strategic approach to development, while in Perlis, he said, leaders’ closeness to the grassroots has resulted in a people-centred style of governance.
“The successes we see across these four states, combined with PAS’s 43 parliamentary seats, make a strong case for the party to take on a leading role in PN,” he added.
He stressed that it was time for PAS to step up from being a supporting partner in the coalition to setting the nation’s direction.
“PAS cannot just remain a follower. We need to take the lead in PN for the sake of the country’s future,” he declared.
Looking ahead to the GE16, Mohamed Sukri urged the party to field candidates who genuinely inspire public trust, rather than simply filling seats based on internal quotas.
“Victory is more achievable if we put forward candidates with strong winning potential. This is a vital strategy to take PAS to Putrajaya,” he explained.
He concluded that the growing support for PAS, coupled with the energy displayed at the muktamar, demonstrated the party’s readiness to strengthen PN in preparation for the next general election. —  Focus Malaysia
