Pas Non Muslim Wing Chinese Indians Are Increasingly Comfy With Pas Support On The Rise

TODAY’S Chinese and Indian communities are much more mature and able to recognise PAS and its leadership, unfazed by the lies and scare-mongering tactic of certain quarters who attempt to derail their perception with inaccurate labels.
Such degree of support emanated from their personal evaluation of PAS based on the integrity and clean record of the Islamist party’s leadership, according to the PAS Non-Muslim Supporters Wing (DHPP).
“To date, no key PAS leader has been accused or arrested for corruption,” claimed the movement’s chief Balasubramaniam Nachiappan in a recent media statement.
“In fact, PAS MPs have never engaged in party hopping simply to pursue positions or personal interests.
“This is one of the main factors why the Chinese and Indian communities choose to be together and support PAS; they see through PAS’ honesty, firmness of principles and steadfastness in fighting for the interests of the people regardless of race and religion.”
Balasubramaniam was responding to a statement by former MCA vice-president Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker on PAS welcoming MCA and MIC to join forces with the opposition Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition.
Social justice ala-PAS
The former deputy youth and sports minister postulated that Chinese and Indian communities are still unable to accept PAS so long as the party does not change from being conservative to being more open.
But Balasubramaniam begged to differ on grounds that DHPP itself is receiving increasing support from the Indian and Chinese communities nationwide.

“For the Indian and Chinese communities, PAS offers confidence that politics can be conducted with the values of trust, social justice and concern for universal welfare,” argued the PAS-nominated senator from June 16,2020 to June 15, 2023.
“They see PAS not only talking about religion but also committed to building a country that is clean from corruption, stable and prosperous for all.”
So, who between Ti and Balasubramaniam is closer to the truth?
Will the non-Muslim demographic accept that PAS has its best interests at heart or will they view the Islamist party’s offer to MCA and MIC as nothing more than a marriage of convenience.
On this note, Ti had warned that both MCA and MIC could lose their core support just as the DAP did in the 1999 polls when it joined forces with PAS.
This included devastating losses for DAP stalwarts Tan Sri Lim Kit Siang and the late Datuk Seri Karpal Singh (he was posthumously conferred the title six years after his demise by the Penang governor on Dec 15, 2020) in their supposed strongholds in Bukit Bendera and Jelutong respectively.
Or has the electorate wised up as Balasubramaniam claimed by rejecting scare-mongering and labels like the ‘Taliban’ to allow for a more inclusive PAS? – Focus Malaysia
