No Orders On Kl Station Closures Tomorrow Ktm Fb On Viral Notice
KTM Berhad (KTMB) has not issued any official directive regarding the temporary closure of the Bank Negara and Kuala Lumpur stations, despite a widely circulated “notice” claiming otherwise.
In response to queries in the comments section of its official Facebook page, the page administrator clarified that “there has been no official notification from management at this time”.
The unverified notice, which has sparked speculation online, alleges that both stations will be shut from 9am to 5pm tomorrow. This coincides with the planned protest calling for Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s resignation, dubbed “Turun Anwar”.
The notice is also being widely circulated on the messaging platform WhatsApp.
“As of now, there has been no official notification from management regarding this matter. Any latest updates will be shared from time to time through KTMB’s official media channels,” the reply stated.
ADSThe “Turun Anwar” rally is scheduled to take place in Kuala Lumpur, with both stations located near the final gathering point for participants - Dataran Merdeka
Rally-goers are expected to assemble at four main locations: Sogo, Masjid Jamek, Masjid Negara, and Pasar Seni, before marching to Dataran Merdeka.
Public transport closures and road diversions on protest days have been implemented in the past, including during the Bersih rally in 2011 and the #TangkapAzamBaki protest in 2022.
Leaders from Perikatan Nasional have cited astronomical figures for potential turnout, ranging from 300,000 to one million.
On a more measured note, police are expecting between 10,000 and 15,000 participants.
Anwar, a veteran of street protests himself, had earlier instructed the police to provide full cooperation to ensure the rally proceeds peacefully, smoothly, and without intimidation. - Mkini
