Motorcycles Steal The Show At Pas Youth Congress

THE main hall of the PAS Kedah Complex in Alor Setar witnessed an unusual scene when three Yamaha RX-Z 135 motorcycles were ridden through the midst of hundreds of delegates attending the 66th PAS Youth Congress. Several PAS Youth leaders also joined in on the iconic two-stroke bikes, a move seemingly aimed at striking a chord with younger supporters.
The spectacle quickly drew reactions online. Some X users found the display amusing, while others criticised it on health and moral grounds.
User @kam_al_gojo contrasted the moment with the era of late former PAS spiritual leaders Tan Sri Nik Aziz Nik Mat and Harun Din, suggesting the party’s image had shifted.
Meanwhile, @zulkifliabuhas3 shared an old quote from party president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang, calling young people “ignorant” and linked it to the symbolism of the stunt.
Sarcastically, @jargon_ulu remarked about the fumes filling the hall, joking that the party might one day ride motorcycles into Parliament if it wins the next general election.
PAS leader Datuk Seri Tuan Man Tuan Ibrahim was seen, on video, autographing the bikes. After that was done, someone shouted “Takbir” and the crowd responded with “Allahu Akbar”.
The RX-Z, long a cult favourite among enthusiasts, recently drew massive crowds in Terengganu at a gathering that also reflected simmering political discontent, as attendees booed a political secretary of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
While the motorcycle stunt in Kedah was punctuated with chants of “Allahu Akbar”, it underscored both the enduring popularity of the RX-Z and PAS Youth’s attempt to connect with a younger generation in its own style. — Focus Malaysia
