Mic Youth Says Couldn T Attend Pas Muktamar Due To Short Notice
MIC Youth has explained that its absence from the PAS Youth muktamar in Kedah was due to time constraints and not because of fear or external pressure.
MIC Youth chief K Arvind said the short-notice invitation left little room to arrange for representatives to make it.
“I want to clarify that the official invitation was only received a day before the muktamar.
“So, the time was too short to send our representatives.
“It’s not because we were afraid or barred from attending the muktamar. But the timing wasn’t right. Everyone (MIC Youth leaders) was busy,” he told Malaysiakini.
Arvind (above) added that it is customary for Malaysians to respond politely to any invitations.
“MIC as a party with more than 70 years of history must set a good example, even towards the opposition,” he said.
Only MIC invited
PAS Youth chief Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden confirmed that MIC Youth had been invited to the PAS Youth muktamar in Alor Setar on Friday.

PAS Youth chief Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden“We invited the MIC Youth deputy chief (K Kesavan) when we met at the recent Bersatu Youth annual general assembly. He promised to attend.
“But we didn’t see him. Maybe this morning he was prevented from coming. Perhaps someone advised him not to attend,” Afnan said.
He stressed that the invitation was only extended to MIC.
“We only invited MIC. Umno and MCA were not invited,” he added.
Previously, Kesavan was reported to have attended Bersatu Youth’s annual general meeting in Shah Alam, which drew the attention of BN chairperson Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Zahid has since demanded an explanation from MIC over the matter. - Mkini
