Hamzah Reveals Old Friend From Pn Met Zahid In Parliament

Newly minted Bersatu deputy president Hamzah Zainudin revealed today that a Perikatan Nasional lawmaker had recently met Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and suggested that the party quit the government.
However, Hamzah, who is also the opposition leader, stressed that the conversation was held between “two old friends” and without any mandate from PN leaders.
“I would like to explain that when the thing (conversation) happened, I asked the person who met the Umno president.
“The person told me it was not a (formal) discussion, but only a casual encounter in parliament,” said the Larut MP during a press conference in Shah Alam after the official opening ceremony for Bersatu’s annual general assembly this weekend.
Hamzah also recounted the purported conversation as told to him by the PN MP who met the BN chairperson.
BN chairperson Ahmad Zahid Hamidi“The MP said (to Zahid) ‘Why are you so afraid (when) the DAP is saying a lot of things about Umno?’ When the MP said that, Zahid asked, what should he do?
“Then the MP said (to Zahid), ‘Leave the government’ (and Zahid replied), ‘If we leave, how do we form a government?’
“So the MP said, (BN) ‘can join us’. That’s all,” said Hamzah.
Hamzah reiterated that the PN MP was not mandated to make any offers to Zahid and the suggestion was strictly made between “old friends”. 
“What is wrong with that? You can ask Zahid who met him. The one who met him has met me, and the person told me what I am telling you today,” Hamzah added.
On Nov 24, Zahid reportedly claimed he was approached by opposition MPs who persuaded him to lead BN out of the federal government to form a new political alignment.
