Deputy Education Minister S Aide Lodges Police Report Against Ratu Naga
An aide to Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh had lodged a police report against a pro-Perikatan Nasional activist after she uploaded a video claiming students in a Perak Chinese school had sung the national anthem in Chinese during an event at the school.
Khoo Khim Han said the police report against Syarul Ema Rena Abu Samah, also known as Ratu Naga, was for alleged slander and fanning racial sentiments on social media.
“A police report was lodged earlier at the Kajang district police headquarters against Syarul Ema, also known as Ratu Naga, for slander and fanning racial sentiments through social media.
“We urge the authorities to take immediate action to ensure no one plays up racial issues while slandering the nation’s educational institutions,” Khoo said.

Also present were Kajang Municipal Council members Farhan Haziq and Kwan Say Hong, and council chief whip Thiagarajah Rajagopal.
Yesterday, Perak state executive councillor Woo Kah Leong condemned allegations that a school in Teluk Intan had sung the national anthem in Chinese during an event at the school.
He said the attendees at the event were in fact singing the Perak state anthem “Allah Lanjutkan Usia Sultan”, which has a melody similar to the national anthem “Negaraku”.
The audio of the clip appears distorted. While a melody resembling either Negaraku or “Allah Lanjutkan Usia Sultan” can be heard, it is difficult to discern its lyrics.
The Education Ministry also criticised the influencer over the matter and warned the public against falling for what it described as “malicious slander” intended to sow division and threaten national unity.
‘Inciting ill-will against Chinese community’
In a joint statement, the quartet accused Syarul Ema of trying to incite racial animosity by uploading provocative content to create a negative perception of the Chinese community in Malaysia.
They added that the video was also uploaded to smear the image of vernacular education and rile up anti-unity sentiments among the masses.
“We urge the authorities to investigate Syarul Ema under Section 505 and Section 499 of the Penal Code.
“She should also be probed under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for spreading slander.
“And the case should also be dealt with by the MCMC. We hope the authorities could provide a forensic digital report to prove intent in her actions,” they added.

Earlier, Syarul Ema blamed Pakatan Harapan cybertroopers for the matter, insisting they had made the video viral despite her removing it within 10 minutes of uploading the footage.
The opposition activist also “apologised’ to the school students, saying she has problems understanding “bahasa pelat” (distortion to language). - Mkini
