Bersatu Mp Still Supports Muhyiddin Despite Protesting Disciplinary Decision

A few days after signing a letter protesting Bersatu’s disciplinary action against six members seeking to push for new leadership, Merbok MP Nazri Abu Hassan said he continues to support party president Muhyiddin Yassin.
He said his decision to sign the Oct 23 letter with 15 other lawmakers, which had been addressed to Muhyiddin, was not meant as a protest against the party leadership but a show of concern.
“My signature is not a sign of protest towards the leadership or the party’s decision, but instead an expression of concern that all internal processes should be conducted with fairness, transparency and wisdom.
“I remain loyal and have faith in the leadership of Muhyiddin and the whole legitimate leadership structure of the party,” Nazri (above) said in a statement yesterday.
He added that when he signed the letter, he was unaware that his two fellow parliamentarians, Tasek Gelugor MP Wan Saiful Wan Jan and Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal, were in the process of appealing the disciplinary board’s decision.

Four Bersatu division chiefs were also disciplined - Azrudin Idris (Hang Tuah Jaya), Faizal Asmar (Pengerang), Fadhli Ismail (Ipoh Timur), and Isa Saidi (Ampang).
Proper channels
Nazri said that as an MP and party member, he believes all actions and decisions should go through the proper channels.
“At the same time, I advise both of my colleagues to postpone any programme or public statement while their appeal is ongoing to preserve that process’s credibility and the party’s good name,” he added.
Bersatu president Muhyiddin YassinThe disciplinary probe was initiated against Wan Saiful over efforts to pressure Muhyiddin to hand over the reins to his deputy Hamzah Zainudin.
Wan Saiful has since claimed that the board also wanted to summon Hamzah, but the Larut MP was reported to have declined. - Mkini
