Albert S Lawyer Fires Back At Pkr Youth Leader For Vilifying Whistleblower
The counsel for Albert Tei, the whistleblower in the Sabah mining controversy, has dismissed a PKR Youth leader’s remarks as an attempt to discredit his client.
This came after PKR Youth information chief Danish Hairudin described Tei as “the biggest bribe-giver” who was now trying to shield himself by leaking information about others.
In response, lawyer Mahajoth Singh said Danish’s comments only reinforced public perception that the party is protecting the powerful while targeting those who speak the truth.
Two days ago, Tei criticised Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for dismissing his evidence against six Sabah assemblypersons as hearsay.
The businessperson also shot down Anwar’s claim that only videos were handed to the MACC, stressing he had submitted a dossier exceeding 300 pages to back his allegations.
In defending Anwar, Danish urged the authorities to take firm action against Tei, accusing him of attempting to escape punishment by hiding behind the whistleblower status.

Whistleblower Albert TeiDanish further stressed that Anwar and the Madani government must remain consistent in upholding justice and transparency, noting that no one - including politicians, civil servants, or corporate tycoons - was above the law.
‘Read the news’
Taking Danish to task, Mahajoth said Tei had been charged in the Kota Kinabalu Sessions Court and has claimed trial to defend himself from the accusations.
“Tei has claimed trial and he is defending himself in accordance with the law.
“Only someone who does not read the news, or cannot understand it, would say otherwise.
“Before blurting out such nonsense, Danish should at least fact-check,” the lawyer added.
Mahajoth urged Danish to explain why PKR continues to protect the six implicated lawmakers while criticising the man who exposed wrongdoings.

PKR Youth information chief Danish HairudinDespite Danish’s attempt to portray Anwar as a man of integrity, the lawyer said it was earlier announced that Pakatan Harapan and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah will be joining forces for the upcoming Sabah polls, although several lawmakers from the latter coalition are implicated in the scandal.
“So let me ask you this, Danish. If your party truly believes in integrity, why does it continue to protect the six implicated assemblypersons while attacking the man who exposed them?
“Until you can answer that, your words will remain nothing more than the noise of a political lapdog, barking at whistleblowers while wagging its tail at the corrupt.” - Mkini
