Albert Rats In Macc Leaked My Testimony To Hajiji
Businessperson Albert Tei has accused the MACC of harbouring “rats” who leaked his confidential testimony to Sabah Chief Minister Hajiji Noor.
He claimed the breach showed the commission was compromised and acting in favour of the chief minister.
Tei said he was stunned when Hajiji referred to the contents of his MACC statement during a Christmas luncheon at the Hyatt Regency in Kota Kinabalu last December.
“He openly said I was called by MACC, but I did not admit I did it. Imagine, I was already called by MACC but did not admit. This, he said publicly in front of many people.
“So how did Hajiji know my statement? Who informed him? This means there are rats inside MACC. Very clear. What I am saying now is a fact. There are rats in MACC,” Tei told reporters outside the Kota Kinabalu courthouse.

He was met after attending a corruption hearing in which he is on trial for giving bribes on Tuesday.
Tei said he has lodged two reports, one with the police under the Official Secrets Act and Section 203A of the Penal Code for disclosing confidential information, and another with MACC for alleged abuse of power.
He claimed the leak indicated there was interference from Hajiji in the MACC investigation, adding that he would no longer cooperate with the graft buster until the leak was addressed.
“I want to know how many rats are inside MACC, who the rats are, and what positions they hold.
“Until they catch the rats and give me an explanation, I will not believe MACC anymore. If they call me in the future, I will not cooperate,” he said.
Escalating the issue internationally
Tei also hit back at Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who had described the Sabah mining corruption scandal as “hearsay” during a recent parliamentary session.

ADSHe said he was prepared to escalate his case internationally to validate his evidence.
“I have already looked for several NGOs in the United Nations, the United States, and the United Kingdom to send my evidence, including a full video recording related to the Sabah mining scandal, abroad to be forensically examined.
“If I am pushed to the limit, I may expose (the corruption) even more. Enough, don’t force me,” he warned.
No Singaporean backer
Tei also rejected allegations that he was financed by a Singaporean businessperson to pay bribes to Sabah Umno leaders.
“The tycoon, if you can prove to me, the tycoon never gave me a single sen. Please prove it. What I paid to Umno, to the YBs. Show me the proof.
“Arrest me, investigate me. Until today, three months already. The accusation about the tycoon came when?
“It came two days after I held a press conference here (in Kota Kinabalu during the first hearing). MACC opened an investigation paper based on rumours and hearsay.
“… You want to accuse me, accuse me. But at the same time, charge the six YBs and the Sabah assembly speaker too,” said Tei, adding that the only way these leaders, including Hajiji, could be charged is if they are no longer in power.

Sabah Chief Minister Hajiji NoorIn connection with the allegations, Kuantan-based mining firm Southern Alliance Mining Ltd similarly denied claims linking its managing director, Pek Kok Sam, to the corruption scandal.
Tei is on trial for allegedly giving bribes totalling RM350,000 to two Sabah assemblypersons, who are also accused of taking said bribes.
However, the businessperson claimed that multiple Sabah politicians have taken money from him, and that he has furnished all his evidence to the MACC. - Mkini
