After Sakau Speeches Now This Fadhli Demands Pm S Exit As Aide Quits
PAS MP Ahmad Fadhli Shaari today demanded that Anwar Ibrahim also resign, after the prime minister’s political secretary, Shamsul Iskandar Akin, abruptly quit.
In a post on X, Shamsul said he was made to understand that there is an attempt to attack him with an issue that could ruin the government’s image.
“Therefore, I have decided to defend myself against this attack,” he added.
The 5.20pm post came in the wake of Malaysiakini contacting him this afternoon for comment over allegations that he received money from businessperson Albert Tei in relation to the mining scandal.

Shamsul Iskandar AkinHowever, in his post, Shamsul said he tendered his resignation to Anwar this morning.
“So this is what has actually happened! How filthy the disgusting political games of this so-called Madani Prime Minister’s Office are,” said Fadhli.
“According to Rafizi Ramli’s account on his podcast, he had reminded PMX (10th prime minister Anwar) several times, and PMX himself admitted the matter concerning his political secretary, yet still no action was taken.
“It’s not enough for the political secretary to resign, PMX himself must step down. Oh, when giving speeches shouting ‘sakau..sakau!’ And now this is what unfolds,” said the Pasir Mas lawmaker on Facebook.
Fadhli questioned whether the large sum of money allegedly received by Shamsul had also gone to Anwar, and called on the MACC to investigate the matter thoroughly.
“This is an issue of integrity; never before has the most senior political secretary to a prime minister been embroiled in something of this magnitude,” he added.

Prime Minister Anwar IbrahimFadhli also made a clarion call to Sabah voters to keep the issue in mind when casting their votes, and to pick Perikatan Nasional.
“People of Sabah, remember this well. Do not be afraid to choose; do not be swayed by the narrative that you must pick a government aligned with the federal administration.
“Choose Perikatan Nasional this time, and in the general election, choose PN at the federal level as well, then the state and federal governments will be aligned.
“O Madani, where will you hide your face now????” he added.
The latest bombshell
Tei’s allegation implicating Shamsul comes a week after Anwar addressed the Dewan Rakyat on a separate issue - that he had reprimanded his political secretary, as government regulations did not permit the issuance of support letters for contractors involved in a hospital project.
Earlier today, Fadhli, who is also the PAS information chief, uploaded a photograph of Tei meeting former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad over the mining scandal in which over a dozen Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) politicians were implicated.

Businessperson Albert Tei (standing) with former prime minister Dr Mahathir MohamadCiting “trusted sources”, Fadhli said he was informed that the businessperson had complained to Mahathir about a group that allegedly asked him to record the incriminating videos against the Sabah politicians.
Tei later confirmed with Malaysiakini that he passed a set of all the evidence to Mahathir, which consisted of 340 pages, and showed him a video as well.
Responding to the issue, Mahathir said an individual had approached him with evidence linking the corruption case with government aides and that he could only advise them to contact the media.
Since last November, Tei has revealed a slew of videos, documents, and WhatsApp screenshots accusing Sabah politicians of accepting bribes in exchange for mineral exploration licences.
Tei and two assemblypersons were subsequently charged.
GRS chairperson and Sabah caretaker chief minister Hajiji Noor has accused Tei of being part of a cartel aiming to monopolise mining in the state. - Mkini
