Are Ride Hailing Services Safe Not For One Passenger As Seen In This Revealing Video

IN A world where the sea level is rising and global warming is a looming threat, any action that reduces the number of cars on the road is applaudable.
Car pooling or the popular Grab and Uber service comes to mind. But is it always safe to sit in a car where the driver is a stranger? For a very unlucky passenger in a recent video, the answer is a big no.
In the video post on X by netizen @dahfollowbelum, the passenger complained that the air conditioning in the car had not been engaged.
To make matters worse, the driver deliberately locked the windows too. Instead of rectifying the problem, the man could be seen shouting at the passenger, telling him to get out of the car.

According to the passenger, the man was making loud, unhinged noises during the journey too and that he wasn’t following the map. Grab has since responded to the video, stating that the organisation has made a report for further action.

On our part, we would like to point out that perhaps, the Grab driver was having a bad day, hence the behaviour. Family issues perhaps, financial difficulty or marital dispute may contribute to mental issues. Sadly this is no excuse if you are working in the service sector.
On the other hand, Grab drivers are also exposed to safety risks. In an unrelated story, a young Grab driver, 27-year-old Aiman Nosri, was strangled to death by two foreign nationals, Myanmar citizen Sua Lay, 40, and 30-year-old Indian national Gurpreet Singh, using a car seat belt. They had since been handed the death sentence.
The incident took place around 10pm on June 21, 2018, in a back lane in Selayang Baru, Batu Caves. Where strangers are involved, anything can happen. — Focus Malaysia
