A NEWLY created WhatsApp group named “MB Selangor”, comprising state assembly members and leaders, has triggered controversy.
Its administrator, known as “Madani”, accused a PKR leader close to Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari of unexplained wealth and excessive influence.
The administrator questioned how the “leader” could afford a RM3mil bungalow, luxury overseas trips, and stays in high-end hotels while also holding numerous positions in state-linked agencies.
“The question is, why is one person appointed to so many positions, as if there are no other qualified people in Selangor?” asked Madani.
When contacted by a local portal, the leader at the centre of the allegations declined to comment, saying, “I can’t comment. It’s better that we allow the state administration to explain the details of the Selangor 2026 Budget to the public.”
The WhatsApp group administrator further accused the leader of involvement in distributing Kumpulan Darul Ehsan Bhd projects in Hulu Selangor, claiming he allegedly took “15%” from certain contracts as political funding.
A list of over 15 companies purportedly linked to the leader’s network was shared, and Madani challenged the leader to file a police report to reveal the evidence.
Photos of the aide’s family holidays and a list of companies allegedly linked to state projects were circulated.
Madani urged the MACC to investigate and pressed assemblymen to raise the matter in the state assembly. The aide declined to comment, while Amirudin has not yet responded. —  Focus Malaysia
