Yayasan Peneraju Targets 200 000 Bumiputera Talents By 2030 With Focus On Accounting Tech
The agency says boosting Bumiputera accountants and technology professionals is key to Malaysia’s growth.

The agency under the economy ministry said it plans to support 5,000 accounting scholars annually by 2030, contributing more than 10,000 new chartered accountants in six years, while scaling up tech enrolments from 8,000 today to 50,000 a year.
Its CEO Ibrahim Sani said professional certifications and technology will remain at the centre of the agency’s mission.
“Moving forward, our mission is to keep nurturing and developing Bumiputera talents, but with a sharper focus.
“Professional certifications and technology will remain at the centre because that is where the need and opportunity are greatest,” he said in a statement.
Over the past 13 years, YP has empowered more than 70,000 Bumiputera talents through scholarships, upskilling and technical training, producing leaders in accounting, technology, medicine and other industries.

“Beyond financial support, Yayasan Peneraju provided me with a strong network and structured pathway. They believed in my potential when international professional qualifications seemed out of reach,” he said.
Hannah Saqinah Haris.Another is Hannah Saqinah Haris, who switched from finance to tech through YP’s Microsoft Cloud Solution Expert programme and now works as an IT audit manager at a multinational firm.
“At the time, I had zero knowledge of cloud systems. But YP gave me the confidence to take that leap. That one certification completely changed the course of my career,” she said.
Building on such stories, YP is rolling out YPXLR8 (YP Accelerate), a place-and-train initiative to help 1,000 non-tech professionals transition into technology careers.
Looking ahead, YP also plans to guide its alumni into leadership roles through its Talent Bank programme, aiming to develop 10,000 high-impact Bumiputera leaders by 2030 in business, professions and community spheres.
