Why Quit Now Bersatu Leaders Ask Faiz Na Aman
A Bersatu leader has dismissed former Supreme Council member Faiz Na’aman’s claims against the party as baseless.PETALING JAYA: Two Bersatu leaders have questioned the timing of Faiz Na’aman’s decision to leave the party in the midst of campaigning for the six state elections.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, one of them wondered why the former Bersatu Supreme Council member decided to only voice his grouses now.
“When we were in government, he kept quiet and never had any complaints about the party,” the Bersatu leader said, referring to Muhyiddin Yassin’s administration.

While the Bersatu leader did not go into details, checks show that Faiz was a director for the Institute for Youth Research Malaysia from 2018 to 2019 and the director for Malaysia Cooperative Societies Commission in 2018.
Bersatu was then part of Pakatan Harapan, the ruling coalition in 2018.
Earlier today, Faiz quit the party and claimed that Bersatu had strayed from its objective of giving more room to young people with the right qualifications and no political baggage.
His decision to leave came less than a week after he criticised the Perikatan Nasional (PN) component party’s leaders for their choice of candidates for the Selangor state elections.
He had previously questioned Bersatu’s decision to field those who were defeated in the 15th general election (GE15).

Meanwhile, another leader from Bersatu said Faiz quit the party because he was unhappy that he had not been chosen as a candidate.
“He is also unhappy because some of his friends were not named as candidates in Selangor.”
However, the leader admitted that some members were upset with some of the candidates that were chosen. In the Batang Kali seat, for example, supporters had burned the party flag to show their anger.
