Video Clip Surfaces Showing Pbs Chief Discussing Money With Albert
A video clip has surfaced on whistleblower Telegram channel Edisi Siasat today showing Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) acting president Dr Joachim Gunsalam allegedly discussing money with businessperson Albert Tei.
According to a caption at the beginning of the clip and its time stamp, the discussion allegedly occurred last year at Gunsalam's office at the Sabah Local Government and Housing Ministry in Kota Kinabalu.
The full context of the conversation was not clearly stated, but it was understood to be over a cancelled mineral exploration project.
"I have already given you RM550,000 in total. I have checked the account before I came to see you. I have given you RM550,000. One time RM300,000, another time RM150,000, and then RM50,000, and another RM50,000 in KL (Kuala Lumpur).
ADS"RM550,000 was passed to you. But what I have given so far is just a small change. But this is RM11 million, I would surely get sued, everyone would say that I cheated them," Tei was overheard telling Gunsalam (above).

Businessperson Albert TeiIn response to this, the Sabah minister was overheard saying, "We check first."
Tei, who confirmed that it was him speaking to Gunsalam, said the RM11 million referred to the capital investment his company had forked out for a mineral exploration project in Sabah.
He explained that he was scared of getting sued by his business partners after the project was cancelled.
Later in the video, Gunsalam was heard telling Tei that he would try to do something to help the businessperson.
"...try to reduce kau (your) punya burden or see how to manage this thing lah," Gunsalam said.
‘It was a political donation’
When contacted, Gunsalam maintained that all the money that Tei had channelled was a political donation for PBS.
The politician told Malaysiakini that he could not remember how much money he had received from Tei so far, but denied that it had reached RM600,000.
"He is a businessperson. It was a political donation, so what?
"How much? I don’t think it was up to RM600,000. But because I did not receive it directly, okay? It was my party machinery.
"Thank you, lah, give us a donation," Gunsalam said.
ADSAccording to Gunsalam, the party is also ready to extend its fullest cooperation to the authorities.
"All I can say is that we are open and we shall cooperate fully with the authority if there is any allegation there.
"But in Malaysia, I think political donation is still accepted," he said.
Tei had previously denied that it was a political donation and challenged Gunsalam to produce the necessary receipts to prove it. He also challenged him to lodge a police report if the bribery allegation is false.
Witness to the discussion
The second half of the video clip showed an alleged conversation between Tei and an aide to Gunsalam, who had purportedly witnessed all the money changing hands.
Malaysiakini has reached out to the person and is withholding his name pending response.
"I gave Joachim, I sent RM500,000, because I already got what I wanted, the license.
"After that, there were some sponsors here and there, but these were not all calculated. In total, I have given 'boss' RM600,000.
"You were there, bro. Every time also you were there, because I would call you and ask you to arrange," Tei said.
In response to this, the aide agreed to what Tei said and mentioned a certain shopping complex in Kota Kinabalu where they had met before.
