Use Of Mysejahtera App Will Soon Be Compulsory Ismail

CORONAVIRUS | Defence Minister Ismail Sabri said the use of the MySejahtera app, a mobile application commission by the federal government to facilitate Covid-19 contact-tracing, will soon be made compulsory in all business premises
"The Attorney-General's Office will gazette the usage of MySejahtera application as compulsory in the near future
"However, exceptions are given to premises in rural areas where the internet connection is unstable," he told a press conference in Putrajaya today
At present, not all premises use the MySejahtera app with some businesses using their own means to collect data on customers, such as the filling of digital or physical forms
Ismail said the mandated use of the app would help the Health Ministry with contact-tracing action in the event of a Covid-19 infection
On a separate matter, Ismail said the special ministerial committee has approved a targeted enhanced movement control order (MCO) at the epicentre of a new Covid-19 cluster in Kedah, namely the Sivagangga cluster which now has 20 cases
Ismail, who is the senior minister in charge of the MCO, said the targeted enhanced MCO would cover a 1km radius of the Nasi Kandar Salleh restaurant where the cluster started as well as Pekan Napoh; Kampung Pida Satu, Megat Dewa; Kampung Bendang Dalam; and Kampung Ulu, Padang Sanai
He said the targeted enhanced MCO in the above locations would be in force until August 30
The Health Ministry will conduct the Covid-19 test on about 7,000 residents in the areas involved
He also said there would be additional roadblocks in every entry and exit points, as well as the closure of several main roads in the areas
While mosques and other houses of worship would be closed
Previously, the state education department announced the temporary closure of five schools for 28 days due to the new outbreak
As of yesterday, the Sivagangga cluster has 20 cases. So far, it is the fourth largest active cluster
The cluster started with an index patient, a restaurant owner, who did not comply with a home quarantine order after returning from abroad. - Mkini
