Unfitting For Dap Lawmaker To Lash Out Sans Understanding Context Of Equating Non Muslims With Zionists

BANGI MP Syahredzan Johan have scored many brownie points for standing up for non-Malays/non-Muslims after the latter were ‘demonised’ by PAS Pengkalan Chepa MP Datuk Dr Ahmad Marzuk Shaary as synonymous with the Zionist regime which bears despicable, extreme and inhumane behaviour.
At least such is the picture painted by DAP of its national vice chairman fiercely tearing apart Marzuk’s claim in the Dewan Rakyat during the Budget 2026 debate on Tuesday (Oct 22).
However, those on the other side of the divide have a differing view.
Former Ikatan Muslimin Malaysia (ISMA) president Aminuddin Yahaya seemingly concurred with Marzuk who is also the Islamist party’s national working committee member that Malaysia could one day endure a similar plight as Palestine if no definite action is taken to curb the rising influence of non-Muslims.
“The Jews used to be immigrants and did business in Palestine. Over time, with the wealth they gained, they bought land and began to control the economy,” narrated the former Gabungan Nasionalis (GN) chairman in a Facebook post.
“Started as immigrants but then became wealthy merchants. They used to gain sympathy from the Palestinian Arabs but now it is the Palestinians who are riding the luck of the Jews.”
Such similarity in trend is obvious given the land size under Malay ownership has shrunk considerably today, according to Aminuddin.
“Everything else has been mortgaged to other races. Look at Penang and around KL and other areas that have been lost from the Malays’ grasp,” revealed the activist of issues related to Malay interest and Islam.
“Economy-wise, there’re rarely Malay-owned shops around (in big cities). Everything is owned by other races. So, if this trend continues, it’s not impossible that we may end up like Palestine.”
But here is the thorny part for “ending up like Palestine” does not mean the war or torture occurring in Gaza “but the loss of land and economic control”.
“Malays will only become slaves and squatters while others become masters,” contended the businessman.
“So this DAP MP should understand the context of the discussion instead of just pouncing like an ape that has lost its mother.”
Although majority of pro-Madani commenters have rallied behind fiery Syahredzan in the DAP’s FB post which has amassed 9.4K likes, 2.3K comments and 1K shares at the time of writing, detractors have trolled him for his seemingly apple-polishing tirade.
“You must be happy, apek (slang for ‘elderly man’; in reference to DAP) to have a Malay lapd*g like him,” jibed opposition voices which further tormented the lawyer by training as “a bootlicker” and “a true defender of the kafir lakhnatullah (cursed infidels)”.
