Umno Pn And The Palestinians

UMNO has been very consistent in its support and solidarity with the Palestinians. Its president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has held several meetings with their leaders, notably Ismail Haniyeh of Hamas and others over the last two years.
It was Umno's stance that led to a threat by Israel two days ago that they will carry out attack on Hamas leaders and their suspected training grounds in few countries, including Malaysia and Qatar. Haniyeh is believed to have moved to Qatar almost two years ago

Nope! Please dont contest the point when Prime Minister Muhyiddin claimed he talked to Ismail in Gaza recently as the latter could have been there during the crisis with Tel Aviv regime

The point here is, the Malaysian government is doing its best to accommodate with the issue. Although the Palestinians are more comfortable with relations with Umno, the Perikatan Nasional is now the ruling party and I believe they should seek better assistance

My colleague in Gaza and the Palestine Embassy in Kuala Lumpur have been feeding me with daily reports of the situation, and I have been sharing it on the social media platforms. Although many chided Putrajaya for its pledge to send about a million face mask to Gaza, take it as positively as the whole world is reeling from the Covid-19 pandemic

However, Israel is almost free from it when 95 per cent of its 9.3 million population has been vaccinated, and I think they are more prepared with the war against Palestine. There is logic in it

According to them, the Palestinians need medical supply, food, blankets and tent. Since more than 20,000 are made homeless by Israeli attacks, they are displaced and live scattered everywhere in Gaza and its suburb

News about military assistance from Turkey, Indonesia or any other nations are actualy fake. But Israel is feeling the heat from a-Qassam counter attacks, and surprisingly they seems to be better equiped recently

I was in Gaza and Bekaa Valley in the 80s. I met the late Fatah leader Yasser Arafat there. In Beirut, Lebanon, I had audience with Lebanese President Amin Gemayel and Shiite leader Nabih Berri, both were assassinated years later

The only pattern I observed is, a free Palestine state will not get recognition by the main powers in the United Nations, namely the US, UK, Germany, France and others. Perhaps China and Canada might give it a consideration but without majority vote at the Security Council, it cant be achieved

The US, being the main force behind Israel's atrocity, is not going to let go of the Palestinians. Their land is a perfect place for them to test their latest weapon, so are Iraq, Libya, Syria, Afghanistan and Yemen. Their weapon-producing companies will be at losses should no countries buy it. See my point

So, the Palestine is not only about Israel's long foe with it but is being kept for the interest of the superpowers' economic agenda. Its similar to their dictation of the United Nations. I remember the late Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi once suggested that the UN should be removed from New York to a more free country

As at now, Malaysia stays with the Palestinians. Maybe the government can consider providing other aids to them, particularly medical equipments and food. I remember our aid flotilla led be Azeez Rahim some years ago. How about sending another one

Umno is not the government anyway..
