Umno Man Proposes Ousted Perak Mb To Be Appointed As Senior Minister
Umno Youth exco member Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris has proposed that Bersatu deputy president Ahmad Faizal Azumu is appointed as a senior minister in the federal government after being ousted as the Perak menteri besar yesterday.
Azri (above), in a statement, said the crisis in Perak had to be urgently resolved after Perak Umno yesterday angered Bersatu by moving to oust Ahmad Faizal even though both are part of the state government.
"The sooner Peja is absorbed into the cabinet, the better it is to control the political temperature in the country before it burns down the house that is PN," Azri said, referring to Ahmad Faizal by his nickname.
"I hope the party leaderships in the Perikatan Nasional government can find common ground and resolve the complications immediately," he added.
Azri said based on Ahmad Faizal's hierarchy in Bersatu, he deserves a senior position in the federal government.

"I am confident that Umno has no problem if Peja is appointed as a senior minister as the power to appoint ministers is the power of the prime minister, subject to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong's consent," Azri said.
Ahmad Faizal yesterday failed a confidence vote in the Perak state assembly after 48 assemblypersons voted against him while only 10 voted in support of the Perak menteri besar.
A total of 24 Umno assemblypersons and 24 opposition representatives voted against Ahmad Faizal. Only one Umno representative voted in support of him. The confidence vote was initiated by Umno.
Umno had resented the fact that Bersatu could occupy the top position even though it only has five assemblypersons compared to Umno's 25. - Mkini
