Tajuddin Claims Saravanan Revealed Decision For Mic To Leave Bn
A former Umno supreme council member has claimed that MIC will proceed to leave BN next month, when the party is scheduled to hold its annual general meeting.
Former Pasir Salak MP Tajuddin Abdul Rahman, in a TikTok video, claimed that MIC deputy president M Saravanan made the admission during the Tapah MP's Deepavali open house yesterday.
Tajuddin, who was among those who attended the open house, also claimed Saravanan had revealed various "dissatisfactions" which led to the impending decision.
"But I do not need to mention here (because) it is sensitive and confidential," he said in the video.
ADS“Nevertheless, I advise him (Saravanan) to reconsider his decision. Umno and MIC have long been together, bound within BN, and we’ve gone through both good and bad times side by side.
“In Malaysian politics, MIC has contributed a great deal to the progress and development of our country and to all Malaysians of various races. So, I urge him to think it over," said the veteran politician whose Umno membership was reinstated last year after serving two years from an initial six-year suspension.
“He seems firm in his stance, but perhaps he will receive some guidance and enlightenment - I certainly hope so - so that MIC will continue to remain with BN,” Tajuddin added.
‘Let’s not talk politics’
When contacted, Saravanan said he has no intentions to "talk politics" while the Indian community is still in a festive mood, celebrating Deepavali.

“Many in the Indian community are still on their holiday break, so I don’t intend to spoil the mood by talking politics like some other leaders do.
“As leaders, we must be mindful that this is a festive season. Just imagine if it were another community’s celebration and someone came to talk politics - people would surely be upset, right? So, let’s not talk politics," he told Malaysiakini.
“If given the opportunity, let’s talk about harmony, unity, friendship, and the strengths of different communities - the beauty of our togetherness. That should be the theme during festive seasons. There’s no need to talk politics," he said.
In recent months, Saravanan had sparked a spat with Umno supreme council member Puad Zarkashi after he reportedly claimed MIC had been deceived into agreeing to support a coalition government under Anwar Ibrahim’s leadership.
Last Friday, MIC president SA Vigneswaran said the party will not invite anyone, including BN chairperson Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, to its Nov 16 AGM, a one-day affair focused solely on internal party matters.
On the same day, Zahid said BN will not force MIC or any of its component parties to stay in the coalition, and that he believed MIC would make a "wise decision" during its annual gathering of delegates. - Mkini
