In the latest episode of Keluar Sekejap, Khairy said the individual sent him an email shortly after he mentioned that he would lodge a police report for identity theft.

"In his email, the individual apologised for his actions and mentioned that he had no other channel to highlight the (flaws in the) process flow of Padu registration.
"I was also unsure as to why Padu used such a process flow that allowed registration first before the electronic Know Your Customer (eKYC) process.
"The individual wanted to highlight that the process flow did not adhere to the normal standard, where eKYC comes before the registration process. He wanted to prove this by using my identification.
"Hence, I decided not to prolong the issue by lodging a police report as he had already admitted his mistake," he said in the podcast, which he co-hosted with former Umno information chief Shahril Sufian Hamdan.
Shahril then asked if the individual was just a regular guy, to which Khairy replied, "Yes, just a regular guy. And if I'm not mistaken, he is a software developer… who wanted to prove a point.
"This incident should serve as a lesson to the public out there; do not use other people's identification."
On March 28, three days shy from Padu registration deadline, Khairy uploaded a screenshot to his Instagram story of a popup warning saying that an account under his name had already been created.
"So, I finally got around to registering for Padu today. As I was just about to register, it fell through.
I have never registered before," he wrote in an accompanying caption. Later, in his second post he updated that the issue had since been rectified and Padu was able to reset his identification card login.
"Some guy registered by using my IC number. His identity has been doxxed online. Which I'm not sure is a good thing. Two wrongs don't make a right.
"Right thing to do is to make a police report for identity theft, which I will do. Not dox and leak that guy's info online. That invites more suspicion against Padu. Anyway, now I've registered and submitted e-KYC." - NST
