Sofitel KL Damansara Serves The Seven Wonders of Malaysia in Destinasi Rasa Serantau [Ramadhan Buffet 2022] | Hello all. Here's another potential place for you, your loved ones and colleagues to break fast this coming Ramadhan. 
Entering the buffet area, I am intrigued by the name of the room. Kwee Zeen - such a unique name. Then it occurs to me Kwee Zeen is Cuisine!  


Wow! Very creative!
With its theme 'Destinasi Rasa Serantau' for this coming Ramadhan, Kwee Zeen at Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara brings its patrons the journey of discovering the Seven Wonders of Malaysia with a promise to deliver the full extent of Malaysia's world-renowned food diversity. 
In a nutshell, you'll find the food wonders of each state here, without having to travel to each state. The master chefs will be serving these wondrous delicacies to your table here at Kwee Zeen. 
 
So, what are the Seven Wonders of Malaysia @ Kwee Zeen?
First, the master chefs bring us to Nogori, ie Negeri Sembilan with its spicy Itik Salai Masak Lemak Cili Api (smoked duck cooked in a spicy coconut broth).
Next, we are off to Perak with its Rendang Tok Batu Kikir, the beef short ribs braised for six hours in coconut gravy and Malay spices.
Whereas, the neighbouring state, Pahang, brings in Udang Galah Masak Di Raja with the giant prawns brought specially from the state's main river veins, Sungai Pahang.
Another food wonder comes from the historical city of Melaka with its famous Asam Pedas Ekor Lembu, the tasty and mouth-watering oxtail slowly cooked in a hot and sour broth. 


Further to the south at the state of Johor, the chefs bring in Otak-Otak Lobster - the Asian dish mousseline served generously with lobster, wrapped in a banana leaf parcel. 
A cuisine that is very dear and near to me is Manuk Pansuh, chicken cooked in bamboo stalk - a cuisine originated from Sarawak by the Iban tribe. 
And from the state that I'm currently residing in, Selangor is Kambing Bakar - the tender spiced lamb roasted over a charcoal fire that is everyone's favorite especially during the month of Ramadhan.


While you are picking, choosing and enjoying your favorite wonders at the Kwee Zeen's ramadhan buffet, you'll be serenaded by a traditional Gamelan performance, brought to you by a group called Gita Gangsa.
The leader of Gita Gangsa is my junior in uni and he's very talented in playing the instrument. Contact him for any event, ok. 



How Much is Destinasi Rasa Serantau buffet?

If you are looking for some saving, you better book early and enjoy the Early Bird rate (April 3 to April 10 & April 25 to May 1) which is RM128 per adult and RM64 per child. 
To sweeten the deal, Kwee Zeen is offering a 20% early bird discount for bookings before April 1.

Whereas, the normal rate is RM178 per adult and RM89 per child (April 11 and April 24).
The buffet is also available at the Wau Bulan Ballroom from April 11 to April 24 for only RM98, offering an assortment of choices, covering an assortment of tastes of kerabu, sambal and kuih.

So, what's my review?
Variety: 4.2/ 5.0 The buffet line is not as long as other but I was amazed at how efficient and fast the refilling of all cuisines are.

Taste: 4.6/ 5.0 Good job to all the chefs - delicious choices of food wonders here!

Price: 4.0/ 5.0 Looking at the list of the menu, if you managed to get the Early Bird rate with the 20% discount, yes, it will be worth it.

Ambience: 4.6/ 5.0 I love the majestic feel while being serenaded by the gamelan performance. The tables are comfortably arranged to ensure the dining experience of each patron. 
So, should you go? Yes, you should.
