Siti Kasim Berates Holier Than Thou Critic Of Syed Saddiq S Tight Sporting Gear His Affectionate Bass Ship

ONE prevalent attitude among her brethren that Siti Kasim detests most is that of their deemed fondness to indulge in moral policing, often with high tendency of crossing the mind one’s own business line.
Such is the case when one life balance coach politely pointed out to Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman in an open letter that his choice of knee-long shorts during the recent Ironman Malaysia Championship in Langkawi was “visibly vert tight”.
“This is part of the chapter on men’s aurat (private parts) in sports. I hope YB can be a catalyst for change in attire that covers the aurat for men during future sporting activities,” penned Mardiana Mat Ishak who was also a former lecturer at the Qur’anic Language Department (QLD) of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).
“YB can refer to an ustaz or the Syeikh that YB usually refers to. I apologise for writing about this. I was moved to write because YB is an icon for youngsters especially Muslims.
“This maybe a small matter for some individuals but for the generation who is observing, it sends a strong message about how we take care of our aurat. We’re all ambassadors to our own race and religion.”
Editor’s Note: For men, the aurat or body parts that should not be exposed is the area between the navel and the knees while that of women is the entire body except the face and hands.
For the record, the former MUDA president completed the gruelling race which comprised a 3.8km swim, a 180km cycling segment and a 42.2km run in a total time of 12 hours, 22 minutes and 18 seconds.
For his feat of completing the event in under 13 hours, Syed Saddiq secured RM1 mil in contributions from fashion brand PrimaValet for the welfare of his Muar constituents.
But liberal-minded Siti Kasim viewed the advice proffered by Mardiana as being “a busybody on the way others dress”.
“Such is the is the worldview that has been sowed into the heads of many of our Malays,” lamented the human rights activist and lawyer.
“She wants people to follow her moral thinking and religious understanding. She feels that she has the right to reprimand others on how one should live their lives and one’s way of dressing.
“She should just mind her own business. This is what I kept saying to these types of people.”
Respect courtship boundaries
Thankfully, Siti Kasim missed out or purportedly skipped the second part of the lengthy open letter lest the Orang Asli advocate would have hurled more ‘rotten tomatoes’.
This is given Mardiana had also gently told the 33-year-old Syed Saddiq not to overstep his blossoming courtship with 31-year-old singer, actress and single mother of two children, Bella Astillah (BA), as both have yet to tie the knot.
“Affectionate actions with BA are a bit inappropriate like BA putting a button on YB’s baju Melayu. Because it’s (the relationship) not yet halal, this is an (unbecoming) example to young people out there on the limitations of socialising between men and women,” she cautioned.

“I hope YB can spread the ‘spirit of Islam’ from what YB learned indirectly at IIUM’s Taman Ilmu & Budi (Syed Saddiq is a law graduate from IIUM).
“Oh yes, if possible, YB can also share a video moment of how you maintain your prayer times and how you manage your prayers amid your tight schedules. This can inspire young Muslims to maintain prayers no matter what the circumstances.” – Focus Malaysia
