Rightist Tiktoker Mocks Pmx Asks If There Are Malay Leaders In China To Oppose Appointment Of Non Malay Ministers

IF one poses a stupid question on social media, one best be prepared for a barrage of unwanted answers.
This was very much the case with populist rightist influencer who goes by the handle of Mokcik Pongoh on TikTok and Youtube.
Her exact identity remains unknown although she is regularly highlighted in Malay language news portals such as Sinar Harian and MalaysiaGazette for her distinctly nationalistic views.

Behind a seemingly benign smile, however, there lies a vindictive tongue which spews all sorts of nonsense (sorry, there isn’t a better word for it).
The most recent example is her query directed at Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim where she challenged PMX to explain “if there are any Malay leaders in China?”.
Yes, you heard that right. This political and social commenter was equating the scenario in Malaysia with China.
Constantly harping that this was “Tanah Melayu” which belonged to “prince/son of the soil” a.k.a. Bumiputera, she insisted that the country should be administered by Malay-Muslims who form the majority.
Reacting to the recent cabinet reshuffle, the bespectacled, hijab-clad TikToker lamented that the Federal Territories portfolio has been “conquered” by non-Muslims.

“As the majority in Tanah Melayu, the Malays should be under Malay-Muslim leadership,” she demanded before repeating the absurd query about if there are Malays calling the shots in Beijing.
First to bat was lawyer and human rights activist Siti Kasim who just could not believe that such a ludicrous question was even posed.
With a look of bemusement, the legal eagle pointed out one startling fact – there are 56 recognised ethnic groups in China and this did NOT include Malays.

The Orang Asli advocate also succinctly pointed out that China was ruled by a totalitarian regime in the shape of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). This is unlike Malaysia which is a parliamentary democracy with a constitutional monarchy (who is Malay).
Admitting that she did not know Makcik Pongoh’s exact identity, Siti Kasuin went on to label her a “Permanent Head Damage” as she is said to possess a PhD.
“PhD does not guarantee intelligence,” the legal eagle wryly concluded.
This sentiment was also (thankfully) echoed by many commenters on Makcik Pongoh’s incendiary (or is just plain stupid) TikTok post.
One commenter sarcastically suggested that Makcik Pongoh relocate to China so she could be the first Malay leader to sit in the CCP Politburo which drew plenty of support from like-minded netizens.

















Another commenter simply labelled her as “brainless” which brought about an impassioned defence from one Razif Ajip who claimed her detractors were those who liked seeing Malays being “oppressed”.
This act of bravery brought out even more snide remarks with many commenters stating that they felt no such thing even though they were Malays.

Another contended “being lazy was not the same as being oppressed” while another demanded examples of this oppression.

However, this ultra-nationalist in a tudung also had her defenders. Note that her TikTok post has generated 6,324 likes and 3,719 comments and 3,813 shares at the time of writing, indicating she has a sizeable following.

This is the unfortunate reality in Malaysia – such diatribe is taken at face value that the Malays and their very existence are under threat.
Although the likes of Siti Kasim and many other netizens have poured scorn on Makcik Pongoh’s paranoid claims, there are many who succumb to such ill-conceived theories.
