Rantau Zahid Tok Mat Hisham And Pas
HOW soothing it is to observe the camaraderie spirit in Rantau. Zahid, Tok Mat, Hishammuddin and of course Umno's new friends from Pas demonstrated how formidable their pact could be in the by-election, slotted for April 13.
Hats off too for a good showings from Barisan Nasional's components MCA and MIC. The true bond of brotherhood remains!
And it's also a 'positive sign' in jovial mood of warm encounter between Zahid and Anwar Ibrahim, DPM Wan Azizah and Muhyiddin Yassin. Friends remain forever, politics is of personal domain.
BN is not underestimating the opponents, particularly Pakatan Harapan. They are coming in full force, with Anwar leading the onslaught for PKR's Dr Streram. The other two Independents, namely Malar Rajaram and Mohd Nor Yasin have equal chance.
The seventh by-election is called after a series of petition which nullified Mohamad Hasan's victory for the state seat in the 14th general election. Don't blame Streram, he got every right to contest the result, and Tok Mat deserves to proof it that Rantau is his.
We already had Sungai Kandis on August 4 last year, followed by Balakong and Seri Setia (Sept 8), Port Dickson parliamentary seat (Oct 13 2018), Cameron Highlands parliamentary seat (Jan 26) and Semenyih state seat on March 2.
The last two were won by BN since the Umno-Pakatan pact, mooted by Umno president Zahid Hamidi came into force. No individuals should claim credit for the victories because it's all because of Umno-Pas, the disgusted voters toward Pakatan government and probably the rise in former PM Najib Razak's popularity.
I really would love to see the spirit of brotherhood in Umno comes true in Rantau. For many 'mutinies' and Zahid-bashing, Umno should stop its internal bleeding immediately as to convince members from both parties and those on the outside that they are into what the Malays and Malaysians are hopeful of.
In other words, its time to lead the country again in GE15. Enough of backstabbing and badmouthing. When someone secures majority in a party election, let him lead. Changes can be made when the time comes.
Stop the bipartisan approach of wanting to from the government again. Any move must be made based on unison. No more news and rumors of a few top brass leaders playing chummy with Putrajaya to secure at least the No.2 seat. No sincerity!
Let Rantau be BN's again, and soon Sandakan and perhaps other seats, both state and parliament. Most paramount is serving the party, not individuals.
And please, no more prophecy on who is guilty of not. We have the courts, we have the right law. Unless you like to play God!
