GP2025: With all due respect, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail, Raja of Perlis, how can the rakyat avoid speculation when they do not know who initiated the change of the menteri besar?
It was reported that a “broker” went around asking state assembly members to sign statutory declarations (SDs) to show their lack of confidence in the then-menteri besar.
ADSThis suggests that the attempt to remove the menteri besar did not originate from the assembly members themselves. So who sent this “broker”?
With respect, Tuanku, please summon this broker and reprimand him properly for initiating a change of government through undemocratic means.
A change of menteri besar and state government should only take place on the floor of the state assembly, initiated by the elected representatives themselves.
This broker must have acted in the name of powerful individuals, overwhelming the assembly members into agreeing to sign the SDs.
Culturally, many would not dare oppose such elites and would simply go along with their requests.
But surely, Tuanku, this is unconstitutional? This is precisely why there is a separation of powers, and why leaders are entrusted with the responsibility to respect democratic institutions and protect democratic conventions.
Please reprimand this broker for taking advantage of vulnerable assembly members. Your Royal Highness would be acting in the interests of the people and their choice of government and menteri besar.

I totally agree. How many times has PAS “exchanged” partners over the years? After each divorce, they complain about how terrible the previous partner was.
After changing so many partners, it sometimes says the first one was better after all.
If PAS were a man, no woman would want to be with him. It never considers that it might be the problem in these marriages. Perhaps PAS is destined to be alone forever.
ADSBlueDiamond: Afnan, it is time to finish off a small splinter party that has been hanging on PAS’ shoulders. If you can prove that PAS treats non-Muslims equally, you will win more seats.

Many people are deeply disappointed with the current federal government. They were badly affected by the Sabah election outcome.

PAS should replace its leaders with intelligent, sensitive, and perceptive individuals, not the current narrow-minded leaders who view everything through the lens of race.
Every race has both good and bad people. Find leaders who are exposed to the world.
Coward: Afnan, if what you said is true, then from where I stand, PAS was outplayed by Bersatu. One could argue that Bersatu hit below the belt, but PAS should have defended itself.
This episode reflects the lack of quality in PAS leadership for allowing itself to be played this way.
No one else is to blame but PAS itself. Maybe PAS should not have gone swimming with the sharks.
Afnan is right, but he should note two things. First, his “friend” has a track record - they were behind the Sheraton Move. While PAS benefited, it learned nothing from it.
Second, why does PAS still want Umno? Does Afnan want PAS to be bitten twice? Will it ever learn?
