(Facebook pic)KUALA LUMPUR: PKR candidate for Batu, P Prabakaran, has said he will not lodge a report over an alleged RM10 million offer to defect to MIC, despite being warned that he could risk legal action.
Prabakaran, seeking a second term as Batu MP, said the offer was made over tea, although he declined to name the person whom he met.
“In politics we have friends. Sometimes they make this kind of offer, and I politely reject,” he said after a ceramah here tonight.
Prabakaran questioned what effect a report would have. “What will happen (if a report was lodged), how effective is the MACC?”

He reiterated that he does not take bribes and will not shift his allegiance to another party. “I have my principles, and I am not a frog. But that does not mean I should report everyone who talks to me about defecting.”
A 35-second video clip has made the rounds in which Prabakaran is shown at a ceramah saying that he had been offered a sum of money to join MIC.
Following that, Kuala Lumpur MIC chairman S Rajah filed a police report against Prabakaran, stating that no one from MIC had ever offered RM10 million to Prabakaran and the allegation was aimed at slandering MIC leaders.
A PKR division leader, Rozan Azen Mat Rasip, said Prabakaran could risk legal action if he does not lodge a report about the alleged RM10 million offer. - FMT
