Pm All Vaccination Centres In The Country To Operate Seven Days A Week
TANGKAK: All vaccine dispensing centres (PPV) in the country will operate seven days a week instead of five in order to hasten vaccinations in line with the National Recovery Plan, says Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
"The government has decided that all PPVs will be operating seven days a week (starting this month), with extended operating hours," he said after visiting the Dewan Muafakat Johor Gambir PPV here on Tuesday (June 22).
Muhyiddin also announced that the government would be doubling the allowances for health volunteers.
"The government has agreed to increase the allowance to health volunteers from RM50 per day to RM100 per day for volunteers on duty for more than 12 hours starting this month," he said.
He also said that the payments would be extended to health volunteers at low-risk Covid-19 Quarantine and Treatment Centres (PKRC).

He said the government had earlier allocated RM147mil through the National Immunisation Covid-19 programme at a rate of RM50 per day for each volunteer.
Muhyiddin added that some 19,000 volunteers are expected to receive the increased allowances, amounting to RM180mil and the total allocation for health volunteers was now RM327mil.
"The increase in the rate for health volunteers is in recognition of the services and contributions of health volunteers who work hard to ensure that Malaysians can receive vaccinations in an orderly, fast and safe manner.
"The move also proves the seriousness of the government in increasing vaccination rates across the country, which continues to show an encouraging increase from day to day," he added.
Muhyiddin also said Malaysia would be receiving around 16 million doses of vaccines in July and August.
"Based on the vaccines we have already booked, this will increase the number of vaccine recipients from almost 250,000 a day to 400,000 a day," he said. - Star
