Dear Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad,We, the ordinary rakyat of Malaysia, can't thank you enough for the great sacrifices you have made and are still making in your admirable endeavour to steer this country back onto the right track again since the great victory of GE14
To date, we are still relishing that resounding victory and enjoying the breath of fresh air as we struggle together with you to reform and restore this tattered nation to wholesomeness again
We understand that this restoration takes time and we are willing to stand by you as long as Pakatan Harapan upholds your commitment to integrity and accountability especially for Parliament, the state assemblies, the judiciary and the civil service whose principles which have, sadly, been eliminated by the former government
But sir, it is with great concern that lately, we have been given to understand that you are considering opening the doors of Bersatu to Umno members, the very people whom we deliberately voted out in GE14 solely for the reason that we, the rakyat of Malaysia, have had enough of their deceptive, corrupted and evil ways
We do not trust Umno and we feel that their agenda in joining Bersatu is far from the interests of the rakyat (if it has any interest in that at all) but for their own selfish benefit. They are actually wolves in sheep's clothing, bringing harm and destruction once they are in your domain
As you are well aware yourself, greed and zero integrity are Umno's notorious trademarks which seem to be embedded into each member's personality and character. As the saying goes, "A leopard cannot change its spots"
We feel that many, if not most of the Umno politicians should now be investigated by MACC instead of letting them join Bersatu and be let off the hook for the corruption they have been involved in
As your goodself has said, "No one is above the law and everyone is subject to the rule of the law, regardless of who they are". We totally concur with you on this
We wish to let you know, Sir, that your acceptance of Umno into Bersatu is creating a gnawing sense of uneasiness amongst us as we foresee the creation of Umno 2.0 that brings us back to square one
We had fought tooth and nail in GE14 to rid this nation of this gangrenous disease called corruption and it is our greatest hope that we do not carry forward this hateful disease into the new government
Therefore, we humbly entreat you, Sir, not to accept any Umno people into your party for it only taints this newly reformed government and erodes our trust in Pakatan Harapan
Please keep them out of your threshold, the further, the better, for the sake of this generation and the generations to come.We pray that God will grant you and your cabinet ministers wisdom and discernment as you lead and govern this beautiful land of Malaysia with integrity, righteousness and justice
