Pkr Polls Anwar S Aides Emerge Winners At Division Levels
Former PKR vice-president Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin has succeeded in his second attempt to lead the Hang Tuah Jaya division, defeating incumbent Rafee Ibrahim, who is also Malacca PKR chief.
The senior political secretary to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim polled 1,995 votes to Rafee’s 736 votes - from a total 2,733 ballot papers issued during the PKR division level election held in stages beginning Friday.
According to official data, the Hang Tuah Jaya PKR division has a total of 3,558 members eligible to vote.
Shamsul (above), a former Hang Tuah Jaya MP, contested in a team with Zamzizul Nordin, who won against Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Adam Adli Abdul Halim for the post of deputy division chief.
Adam, the incumbent PKR Youth chief, made way for his position to be contested by another of Anwar’s political secretary, Kamil Abdul Munim after the former breached the age limit for the youth leadership post.

In Kedah, former Alor Setar MP Chan Ming Kai, who is also Anwar’s political secretary, won the Alor Setar division chief post after defeating Ang Say Thong with 932 votes to 471.

Chan Ming KaiA total of 296,403 members from 222 divisions are eligible to vote for division level leaders comprising one chief, deputy chief, vice-chiefs and over a dozen committee members, as well as for the women and youth wings.
