Photo Of Submerged Proton X50 Captures The Severity Of Flood In Certain Places

AS THE northeast monsoon sweeps across Malaysia, we can expect to hear more news of the severe flood affecting the countless victims nationwide.
Sadly, statistics and numbers have a way of dulling the magnitude of the disaster. A picture speaks a thousand words and there really is no better way to capture the severity of the flood than a single photo post from netizen @neyrashazeyra.
According to the post, several black painted metal pieces could be seen just inches above the waterline. Around them, dirty coffee brown water inundated the place, a sight that any flood victim can identify with.
In a shocking revelation, the netizen revealed that those were the roofs of several Proton X50 SUVs which were submerged in the flood. One can only imagine how deep the water is since a Proton X50 has a height of about 1,609 mm.
This is not a short vehicle. With the water at such a height, even a four wheel drive would be trapped here. Any higher and a submarine becomes a viable vehicle to transport the flood victims.
Sadly, the post did not reveal the location of the flood or whether it has subsided. On another note, the Asia News Network reported that the continuous rain is wrecking havoc across Klang Valley with landslides, flooding, fallen trees and even disruptions in LRT and bus services.
Among the worst hit was Taman United along Jalan Klang Lama where first, a 60m-long retention wall collapsed after a landslide along Jalan Sepadu 7 in Kuala Lumpur yesterday morning.
At 4pm, heavy rain caused another slope to collapse, this time along Lorong Jugra Dalam here, about four kilometres from the first landslide.
A 10m-high slope next to Block D Sri Lempah Flats had collapsed, damaging a parked car, Bernama reported, with firefighters from the Sri Petaling Fire and Rescue Station rushing to the scene.
In Shah Alam, several areas saw water levels rising, namely in Taman Desa Kemuning in Section 35, Kampung Budiman in Section U14, Kampung Kubu Gajah in Section U17, Giant in Section 13, Taman Sri Lembayung in Section 25, Jalan Opera in Section U2 and Persiaran Jubli Perak in Section 19. — Focus Malaysia
