The Perodua Kembara Has Been Repaired

Misfortune Comes Without Warning — that’s the saying we’ve heard since we were young. Abe Kie bought this Perodua Kembara in January 2025 after being promoted to a secondary school located in the middle of an oil palm estate. The road conditions there are terrible — full of potholes and winding turns. So it wasn’t suitable to drive a sedan like the Proton Preve to travel to the school, which is 20 km from home.
At that time, the car was still owned by its original owner based on the grant that was given. So Abe Kie just used this 26-year-old car as it was. It had been newly repainted — the exterior looked fresh, but the interior was already worn out. It was fine; the Kembara was used only for going to school. For other locations, the Proton Preve was still the main choice.
When the road tax and insurance were about to expire, Abe Kie had to send the car to PUSPAKOM for inspection before transferring the ownership on the grant. But since he didn’t want to bring the car himself, he had to find an agent who normally handles this kind of work. After searching around, he finally found an agent named Irfan, who charged the cheapest price — RM150.
On the scheduled PUSPAKOM appointment day, Irfan came to collect the car at 7.30 a.m. This incident probably happened on the 18th of September. Abe Kie prayed that everything would go smoothly. But misfortune truly comes without warning. After Asar that day, Irfan called with bad news: the car had been hit by a motorcycle ridden by two teenagers. OMG! The car, which was originally in good condition, ended up with damage on the front bumper. Only Allah knows how Abe Kie felt at that moment — regret, frustration, anger — all mixed together.

Thankfully, Irfan was willing to take responsibility for the accident. Well, he should pay for the repair costs! He handled everything from A to Z. The car had to undergo body knocking first, then it could be sprayed with new paint of the same colour. The whole repair process took almost a month. While the Kembara was being repaired, Abe Kie had to ride a motorcycle to school. If it rained, he had no choice but to drive the Proton Preve.
Alhamdulillah, the Kembara was finally fully repaired after spending a month in the workshop. On the 18th of October, Abe Kie was able to bring the car home again. Alhamdulillah. May such misfortunes and tests never happen again in Abe Kie’s life. Aamiin.
