Netizens Hearts Go Out To A Poor Stranded Husky In The Hat Yai Flood

THE monsoon season never fails to capture the imagination of Malaysians. Photos and videos of people evacuating, and places being inundated by deep water are already rife on the cyber space.
The number of people displaced by the ongoing floods has climbed to 32,614, affecting 10,692 families, according to updated figures from the National Disaster Management Agency.
Kelantan continues to bear the brunt of the situation, with 9,181 residents from 3,404 families seeking shelter at 60 relief centres across nine districts.
Perlis follows as the next most impacted state, where 7,533 evacuees have been placed in 23 temporary shelters.
However, none of these statistics account for the voiceless stakeholders who are equally affected by the rising waters.
Take it from this video where a husky could be seen struggling to save itself as it stood there at the roof of a submerged vehicle.
Oh my heart! By the end of this, I couldn’t breathe.

The video post, shared by netizen @volcaholic1 received over 1,600 shares and 61 comments. Unsurprisingly, our fellow netizens poured their hearts out for the poor doggy.
“I am so glad the dog was saved, I have so much respect for people who save the animals,” said @ebba1236 while @exploregigi added that this was what she donated for.

“In all that chaos good people show their humanity,” said @quasirob.

According to the video post, the location of the scene was Hatyai, Thailand, worst hit by the flood.
Although the video ended on a happy note, it also tells a subtle story about the other animals, pets or livestock who lost their lives in the flood.
No one counts their deaths, and even fewer care, although it has everything to do with the rapid urbanisation caused by humans. — Focus Malaysia
