Perlis Mufti Don T Be In Denial About Adverse Incidents After Booster Dose

Perlis mufti Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin said authorities should not be in denial about incidents of adverse reaction following Covid-19 booster shots.
Asri said he does not deny the role of vaccines in containing the Covid-19 pandemic and that those who suffer adverse effects are in the minority but stressed that the government should be responsible for the safety of every life.
"There have been many complaints about serious effects after the third dose. This is not a fairy tale but can be seen through the people experiencing them or even friends and family members. There is no need to deny them.
"True, the majority do not face any problems. I received the third dose, there was no problem. My mother received the third dose, there was also no problem. Alhamdulillah (thank God).
"But many have also met me to talk about the effects they faced. Some have claimed sudden deaths after the third dose. They are village folk who do not have a formal channel to make complaints," he said in a statement.
Consider suspension
Asri suggested a suspension of the booster programme until a clear guideline is issued on who should or should not receive a booster dose.
"A state of denial is not beneficial if society sees the reality before them. Let there be a clear guideline on who qualifies to get the third dose," he added.
Asri previously expressed concern that his father had been hospitalised for over a week after his health condition deteriorated following a Covid-19 booster shot. The Health Ministry is investigating the incident. - Mkini
