People Keep Asking About Pm Candidate Because They Lost Faith In Current One
PAS MUKTAMAR | The many inquiries and issues raised by the people about the prime minister candidacy recently are because they have lost faith in the current leadership, claimed PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man.
“(These days) people are starting to discuss who will be PM. Why are many people asking (this)? Many are asking PAS, who is our PM figure? Why are they asking us (and PN)?
“(The reason is) because they have lost trust in the ministers, they are not confident in the PM.
“The people are looking for a new figure to lead the government,” he said in delivering his speech during the PAS Youth assembly at the PAS Complex in Kota Sarang Semut, Alor Setar, Kedah, today.
The issues with prime ministerial candidates were not new to PAS, as the party hinted at their displeasure over Bersatu’s unilateral move to name Muhyiddin Yassin as the opposition’s PM candidate.
Despite considering it as Bersatu’s right to do so, which must be respected, PAS expressed its readiness to nominate other candidates.
PAS had previously advised Bersatu to consult first before making any announcements involving the Perikatan Nasional coalition, especially those touching on policy issues.

Bersatu president Muhyiddin YassinThe crisis occurred amid allegations of internal competition between Muhyiddin and his deputy, Hamzah Zainudin.
At the same time, the public’s perception of the unity government was “shaky” as the people were faced with various issues, including the cost of living.
Following this, Tuan Ibrahim further said that he is confident that PN will be the government again after the 16th general election.
Widening gap
The former minister of the now-defunct environment and water ministry also claimed that PAS had used “Islam” in its name to ensure that they would not lie to the people once the party became more widely accepted.
“Some people say that PAS failed because the party’s name is Islamic, (that) if we did not use an Islamic name, maybe many would support us.
“I would like to emphasise that there are many parties that do not have an Islamic brand name (and yet) still could not get the people’s support.
“Naming our party with an Islamic name is to show that we are not lying to the people and that we wanted to bring the Islamic agenda that Allah has guided us with, the agenda to save the country regardless of race and ethnicity,” he said.

Tuan Ibrahim also emphasised that a government built on the foundation of lies will not sustain its governance.
“There is no point for us to advertise our country receiving billions in investments when the people’s subsidies need to be rationed.
“There is no point in us declaring, to the world, that investors are flocking our country, visits after visits, witnessing various MOUs (memorandum of understanding) signed but the people are finding it difficult (to survive).
“The economic gap is widening every day. It is time for us to rise together and reject leaders who like to lie (and) to promise but do not deliver,” he said.
Despite not mentioning any name, it is understood that Tuan Ibrahim was referring to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who is the subject of heavy criticism for allegedly failing to carry out reforms promised before forming the government.
‘PAS for All’ not an empty theory
The Kubang Kerian MP also called for PAS to come forward with the idea of “PAS untuk Semua” (PAS for All), which is not an empty theory and has been put into practice in the states governed by the party.

“Look at how the non-Muslim rights are guaranteed in Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah and Perlis. They are free to practise their religion, eat according to their beliefs and practise their culture and customs without obstacles or restrictions.
“What we (want to) bring to this country is a government that is fair to all, regardless of races and religions, as well as maintaining unity.
“The poor must be defended, the needy must be helped, and the rich must be responsible for helping the poor,” he said.
The concept behind “PAS for All” ideology would mean that the people have the right to family protection, education and life regardless of race and religion. - Mkini
