Pas Should Take Over Pn Leadership From Weak Friend Youth Chief

Arguing that the recent political crisis in Perlis has proved Bersatu unfit to lead, PAS Youth chief Afnan Hamimi Azamudden said his party should take over the chairpersonship of Perikatan Nasional.
His Facebook post today did not name Bersatu, but instead referred to it as a “friend” who is weak and treacherous.

ADS“Those who betray cannot be friends. Those who are weak cannot lead. Those who betray, please get out. Those who are weak, please step down,” Afnan (above) said.
He also appeared to support a revival of the Muafakat Nasional pact but was vague on the details, merely stating “PN 2.0 + MN 2.0”.
The Perlis state assembly now has 15 members, including six from PAS and five from Bersatu.
Previously, eight Perlis assemblypersons - three from PAS and all five Bersatu representatives - attempted to oust PAS’ Shukri Ramli as the state’s menteri besar. Shukri resigned, citing health reasons amid the coup, and was succeeded by Bersatu’s Abu Bakar Hamzah.
PAS terminated the party membership of the three assemblypersons.
Bersatu’s central leadership denied involvement in any efforts to change the Perlis state government.
‘Tacit approval’
Nevertheless, Afnan contrasted PAS’ disciplinary actions against its members for their role in the coup, compared to inaction from Bersatu that he sees as tacit approval.
“When asked, they replied that there was no instruction for their assemblypersons to sign the statutory declaration (declaring no-confidence in Shukri).
“When pressured to take stern action like PAS has done to its three former assemblypersons, there is still no action to this day. Instead, they (Bersatu) nominated themselves to be menteri besar.
“No instruction, but no action taken (against the assemblypersons). These carry the meaning of a tacit approval for their actions,” he said.
The three former assemblypersons from PAS were Saad Seman (Chuping), Fakhrul Anwar Ismail (Bintong), and Ridzuan Hashim (Guar Sanji).
Fakhrul Anwar Ismail was among the eight assemblypersons who attempted to oust Shukri Ramli as Perlis MBADSThe sacking of the politicians from PAS also triggered an anti-hopping state law that vacated their assembly seats, paving the way for by-elections to be held.
Bersatu five
Meanwhile, the five from Bersatu were Abu Bakar Hamzah (Kuala Perlis), Izizam Ibrahim (Titi Tinggi), Marzita Mansor (Sena), Megat Hashirat Hassan (Pauh), and Wan Zikri Afthar Ishak (Tambun Tulang).
Bersatu president and PN chairperson Muhyiddin Yassin clarified on Saturday that the party did not instruct them to sign any statutory declarations and would summon them for an explanation.
He also said Bersatu nominated a candidate for Perlis menteri besar only after being instructed by the palace to do so. - Mkini
