Nurse Tragically Killed When Travelling With Rzx Convoy She Should Have Stayed Home With Kids

A MOTHER’S love is a flame that never goes out, until the cruel hand of fate dictates otherwise.
This was most certainly the case of a nurse who tragically lost her life as she travelled from Simpang Renggam, Johor to join up with other bike enthusiasts for the RZX 7.0 gathering in Terengganu.
As reported in Malay-language news portal Mingguan Wanita, Roslinawati Ramli, 33, died after the Yamaha RXZ motorcycle she was riding was involved in an accident at Kilometer 394, East Coast Highway 2 (LPT2), near Ajil, on Aug 22.
In the incident at around 12 noon, Roslinawati, who was part of a convoy of 13 motorcycles to the RXZ Members 7.0 event at the Terengganu Motor Circuit, Kuala Nerus, suffered serious head injuries and was confirmed dead at the scene.

Shared on the portal’s Facebook page, the post has already generated 22K Likes, 6.9K comments and 1K shares underlining that many Malaysians were moved by the story as two young children were now deprived of a mother’s love.
Amid the outpouring of grief and many messages of condolences, there were those who voiced that perhaps it would have been better if the nurse had spent quality family time with her kids instead of undertaking the trek.
There were those comments that reflected the ultra-conservative outlook of some commenters, who described the attendance of such an event by a married mother of two as inappropriate, given that the gathering was going to be predominantly male.

One commenter even labelled the RXZ Members gathering as “nonsense” and argued that it would have been better to have small family gatherings centred on religious activities.

Another sought to highlight the many anti-social traits associated with the gathering of these motorcycle enthusiasts. Again highlighting that it was mixed gender event, he also mentioned the culture of illegal racing, littering, smoking and breaking of road laws that were unwanted traits that “shamed the religion of Islam”.

However, one sought to defend the gathering of bike entusiats, pointing out the majority had observed the call to prayers while noting the donation boxes for mosques were brimming with alms. What was wrong with meeting old friends in one large event, he asked.
While conceding there were a few isolated incidents of misbehaviour, he asked the public to not tar all participants of the event with the same brush.

There are a few things worth noting about this tragic tale and some of the comments on social media:
On the one hand, it is evident that a number of citizens do not view this gathering of bikers as promoting healthy and positive values. At the very forefront is the open mixing of genders at the event, which surprisingly took place in PAS-ruled Terengganu.
On the other, isn’t it better to have official and properly organised events to cater to this demographic? Aren’t bike enthusiasts allowed to gather, indulge and celebrate their shared hobby?
The passing of the nurse from Johor is extremely tragic but it should not be used as a stick to beat others who want a social life and a hobby. ‒ Focus Malaysia
